Opening my new Apple iPad. Forgive the trembling hand holding the camera. I was excited.
Damn you sir! It is my pleasure to be one of the first people to tell you I am more than jealous and hope you can pick up another one for me on your way back to London!
I want mine now! xoxoxo
Ahhh, so pretty. I’m super jealous!! ^^
yum!
Is your wallet crying now?
OMFG THAT IS AN AWESOME COFFEE TABLE
Hello!
I could feel the excitement all the way over here in Australia as you opened the packaging to reveal the wonderful ipad.
How stunning and marvelous is this product?!
I can’t wait for it to hit the stores out here in Australia.
(`Prolly I should get into a queue right now?! )
THANKS so much for sharing the moment!!
Ooh, ooh, ooh! *hops about on spot* I’m sorry, I’ll have to contain my excitement – I really can’t wait to unbox one myself! Look forward to seeing your review, thanks for sharing the moment with us!
Why so many boxes? And why do I feel like I was watching softcore porn?
Thank you, Mr. Fry, for the absolutely understandable whistling, whuffing sounds of technolust as each box is removed from the bag. Wouldn’t realistic without them.
April First??
Have fun.
And don’t drop it.
Apple is quite simply the best.
So unfair, we have to wait so long in Aotearoa!
OMG I’ve just heard Apple’s had a product recall on the iPad…………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………..Hahahaha did I get ya?? April Fools!!
Happy I padding!
Imagine this is the first thing I saw after opening my eyes this morning.
I feel that it’s going to be a fine day
Me? Green? Never!
Listen to that sharp intake of breath!
It looks like you opted for the same package I did. Nice.
Mr Fry because of you my Amex card is going to take a pounding when this is available in the UK.
Alex
Looks like one heck of a slab of pleasure to me. The iPhone will have to do for now… Enjoy it Stephen!
OMG it has a keyboard too??
Production apple is break! I envy you Mr. Fry =). I hope sometime too to get this miracle. I think Ipad costs very expensively in Moscow! While I enjoy ipod touch!
You gotta admire Apple’s marketing department. Just curious mr. Fry. In return for your free iPad and accessories, how many tweets were you supposed to publish? Darn, I have to wait until the iPad becomes available in Germany and then cross the border from the Low Lands. It’ll be like in the pre-Shengen era (pre 1995) when smuggling goods was still a profitable and highly illegal business.
Oh, you are just too flippin’ cute.
But really, shouldn’t there be a version of the iPad case that has “Don’t Panic” printed on it in large friendly letters?
Ooooo! Pretty! There is something so shiny and special about unpacking and Apple items. I don’t know how they make merely opening a package feel like and event. Love it!
its very pretty, but still shamefully missing a usb connection and the ability to be the base for your iphone. hence making it a bad delivery of an excellent idea.
Kimble killer maybe, laptop replacement unfortunately not. if version 2 as usb and the ability to sync an iphone then woot.
Still enjoy! i’m sure you’ll have fun
Thank you for fulfilling my techporn for the day!
Has it got a USB Port yet ?
loved all the little noises
I cannot be anything but juvenile for this moment; Mr. SF you are a lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky, lucky (you know where this is going!)….person.
“Don’t Panic” with Stephen the official VoiceOver voice;-)
You took the words right out of my mouth Selyon, opening an Apple product is a ceremony in itself. I love how everything is so carefully packaged. I still have the box for my iMac which makes me smile whenever I’m up in the attic.
Thanks for sharing Stephen, i’m insanely jealous now. Oh well, in the meantime i’ll satisfy myself with your interview with Steve Jobs. I can’t think of anyone i’d rather see posing questions to the main man himself, you’re both the finest examples of presenters/public speakers i’ve ever had the pleasure to watch.
Oh yes, love the coffee table. At first my brain couldn’t work out why stuff wasn’t falling through the gaps – until I realised they weren’t. I’d be scared to put a coffee mug on that optical illusion of a table.
Great envy.
Mind you, given that you have an iPaddock there, I keep hoping to see a sleek white horse commented on somewhere.
Tuesday I should have mine.
In age where the 身外之物 is increasingly under attack, it’s refreshing when someone like you with a serious stake in the arts feels otherwise. Unfortunately, I’m Canadian which means a delay of some weeks before the Pad arrives. We are a patient people (perhaps little else distinguishes us) but this virtue will be tried mightily throughout most if not all of the month of April. Shall enjoy it vicariously through your posts.
And how much did that cost Stephen? I really really really want one!
If I make it full screen and put my face right up to the screen, I can pretend that I’m opening my own iPad…
Nope, still not convince that this is the greatest invention of “i” corporation…its just an iphone, only bigger screen and attached keyboard…Bobb23
Looks like you just got the full set there my friend, i really hope you enjoy it and make the most of all those little gizmos
So touching. I half expected a medical professional to whisk it away, clean it up and declare its gender. Congratulations. It’s an iPad.
Ooo! *squeals with delight*
xx
There’s just something so invigoration about unpacking a new gadget. It’s just so new and shiny! It really is a gorgeous piece of tech. Kudos to you sir, for taking the time to get your camera and record this momentuos event, and not just running in the door and ripping the packaging open!
I was expecting tears of joy to fall unabashedly upon the holiest of holies.
Enjoy it. Mine comes Wednesday, along with the best folio case I could find, from Marware. Then it goes into service in my little music studio for making awesome noises. iPad and theremin, now THERE’S a winning combination!
I can quite easily forgive your excitement and shall be trembling myself when I unpack my own. Waiting until the end of May for the UK release is almost unbearable…but given your review, I am sure it will well be worth the wait
Can’t believe I have just watched somebody, who i don’t know, opening a parcel that I am going to have no part in seeing, using or probably ever being able to afford. How sad is my little life!
I love the sound effects….. thank you!
Stephen darling.
When on gods green and wonderful earth are you going to do another pod cast. Its been months since you have done one and I don’t suspect that I am the only one who wants a new update.
So please can we have one
Much love and respect

I got a wonderful birthday present, an iPad from the USA. Now how come I can view the BBC iPlayer on my iPod touch but as yet can’t on my iPad. I hope this is only a time problem which will be solved once the iPad is officially on sale in the UK.. If not I hope. iPads biggest UK fanboy, will be lobbying the BBC.
By the way the iPad is fantastic
regards
glemon
Well done that man! Fine choice. I am now suffering one of the seven deadly sins, and need to convince my minister for war and finance that I NEED an iPad – to add to my collection of iProducts….well off to start the campaign.
As slightly, sort of, quoted from “When harry met Sally” after watching you undress your new toy.
…….I`ll have what he’s having !!!!…
*drools* Awesome, I’m sure you’re having a great time with it. We still don’t have it here, but the local Apple Store informed that is coming soon
