Stephen - Australia here - Just watched the Top Gear episode with you as the guest driver. The previous night I had watched you wallowing in a spa on a boat in the middle of USA. I am greatly impressed with your weight loss since then.

Having stopped smoking in Nov'08 I packed on 12kg and are having the greatest difficulty getting rid of it. On Top Gear you really weren't given the opportunity to answer that question.

Could you enlighted us all??

Just wanted to post to say i have just finished the fantastic "The Fry Chronicles"

I love reading autobiographies but this one was one of the most frank, well written and incredibly honest books i have ever read. I have always been a Stephen Fry fan and am completely fascinated by the man. (not in a creepy way LOL)

I too suffer from low self asteem but have managed to get a great job considering i left school with nothing, not one exam and was told i would end up working in Iceland! (nothing against Iceland or the people who work there!) So i could really relate to the book especially the bits where Stephen is still waiting for someone to come and tell him they got it wrong and he is crap! I still do this now!

Also extremely jealous that he managed to bag Kim, what a dish!

Anyway roll on the next book and long may Stephen grace our screens and our bookshelfs.

I have read and followed your shows and writings for some while now but following this show and the comment about "some fatuous bint that presents a morning show" I will no longer be doing so ever again.
I thought (obviously incorrectly) that someone like you would have the common decency to refrain from commenting in such a way. It is now obvious to me that your self restraint and manners do not in any way reach the supposed level of your intelligence! I have a good sense of humour but this is beyond being acceptable. I'm finding that you are becoming more like Jeremy Clarkson every day in that you appear no longer to know when to keep your mouth shut....A closed mouth gathers no feet!!

Perhaps our forebears were better off than we, leading simple "real" not "virtual" lives and being twitter free?

In 2008 our small country was honoured to have Mr Fry support us in a New Zealand wide internet blackout in protest of some rather draconian copyright legislation our parliament was trying to pass.

Thanks at least in part (personally I think a great deal) to Stephens involvement the legislation was set aside due to great public disapproval. It was awesome to know that such a well known international celebrity had helped stop our government from doing something very stupid.

Unfortunately, 2 years later the government has brought this very same bill into law underneath an important Bill relating to the Christchurch Earthquake Disaster in the hope that the seriousness of that that situation would prevent the public from noticing the copyright legislation.

I would like to know if Stephen is aware that this has happened, and if not how to let him know. If your out there Stephen we would very much like you to re-affirm your beliefs and add some weight to the new internet blackout that has started since the day the legislation was passed.

Best regards
Chris

Hi All

I am new to this forum, but after many months of trying to find an answer I'm hoping that someone here might help?

As the title said I am one of the many who were blocked from following Stephen days after joining Twitter <img src="http://www.stephenfry.com/bb-content/plugins//bb-smilies/default/icon_sad.gif" title=":(" class="bb_smilies" /> .

On contacting Twitter & (several others who were said to be able to help), I was told that the person blocking is the only person who can un-block me.

So, if you are out ther Mr Fry please can you do that? I'd be very grateful. I am found as suzanne2608.

Regards

however he has been in prison which I guess would influence decisions.

Hmm..but he wasn't in for a terribly long time was he? And if that is an influence, that even further undermines Jaggers credibility as any kind of 'Sir'!! The dude shot heroin for years and it's well documented and admitted to.

This is not to say I think that not having led an angelic life or having some bad decisions in ones past should immediately disqualify them...the charitable acts are of course a positive character trait...still, there's something about knighting someone who is, essentially, an entertainer I find odd....but I'm not doing the knighting, which is just as well X-D

Stephen
You are more than worthy of last night’s awards.

This is my first visit to any fan based web site but I thought I would like to leave a few words for you and hope you can understand why you are so popular with we the public.

You are a very special man that is so unusual with so many celebrities to day you warm our hearts. When I watched 'who do you think you are' you were so genuine and moved it is so clear you are a family man in so many ways humble and caring.

What I see in the man which is Stephen Fry, is a man with integrity who is decent and a true humanitarian.

When you are on TV you bring only that which is good into our homes.

Congratulations Stephen very well deserved awards to the most genuine man on TV.

with regard to your recent probs with the press and twitter etc please dont let inbred idiots who have not got the intelligence they were born with make you leave twitter, im only really new to twitter but i find it a wonderful arena for views of all gender, political views, etc but i do find that alot of people fail to realise its just a forum and what they say or the abuse they give out is risking twitter and what it does as forums are vicariously liable for their content.

however i digress if you let people drive you out of twitter you will be letting them win and you should never let idiots win EVER
