I have a proposition that it is possible to make an objective assessment of the validity of our judgements.

My essay is here:

http://web.me.com/turbohippo/Coppleosophy/Blog/Ent.....Seeker.pdf

I think that my essay will be of interest to people who share Stephen Fry's philosophy, and I hope that you don't mind me sharing it with you on this forum.

Knowing what a fan of Oscar Wilde Stephen is and seeing as I am currently writing an Essay about Oscar Wilde's literary works and how he broke down the standards of Victorian Society concerning literature. I would be super greatful if anyone could give me a short message concerning what you think of him? A genius or just a show off? This would be invaluable in my research and give me some great opinions of what people think.

Thank you so much!

Dear Mr. Fry,
I am a great fan of your many programs and documentaries as well as your articles and other broadcasts. I am well aware about your views upon the Catholic Church and their history, but you never seem to discuss a religion a little closer to home. Although you are Atheist you do indeed have Jewish roots, which many saw you discover on national television. I was wondering if you have any views on Judaism's ideology?
Thanks

Mr Fry,

I was listening to the radio yesterday afternoon and the presenter was talking about catching up with her children over the Christmas holidays: she spoke about their inquisitiveness and questions she couldn't answer - such as "Mummy, why are clouds white?". Have you considered producing a QI book for parents and children who want those baffling questions answered? Not sure how you would choose to answer the "Mummy, who is God/where is God?" question but perhaps it could be fun and interesting devising answers in the faith-zone specifically for any parent/child of any denomination. Also wondering if there is space in such a tome where parents contribute their best answers.

For Christmas 2012...? Perhaps...
All good wishes

Dear Sir, its rachelle, I hope you are well and enjoying the incredible Australian weather. Dear eveyone else, I hope you read this and comment. I twittered you some time ago when the subject of wikkileaks became greatly highlighted, prior to the arab spring and ahead of the English riots, which is a fairly convoluted way of saying absolutely nothing whilst placing a certain context around the core value in my communication. As a man I have deeply respected for his most marvellous portrayals of some of our more "colourful" historical characters and as one of our finest and most erudite Quintessential Inglishmen, I wondered what your opinions upon the "world versus the bankers" are, given that on this first day of the Greek National strike over 100,000 people are on the streets in Athens defying current government policy, while many thousands more are spread accross the world in cities like London, Torronto and New York protesting against the way of the bankers. In a similar way to the introduction of "mass terrorism" and the subsequent "war" on it, we have and are being quite obviously led up the garden path by a bunch of people who are no less criminal than individuals they purport to revile, fraudulently going about the world and pasting massive debt and austerity on those with the least to give in order to preserve capitalist dinosaurs and keep the richest 2% in power whilst every other person in the world suffers a drop in standards that in this country alone boils down to pensioners and families with children being forced into fuel poverty and potential death and future generations being without pensions and education. In Swaziland, as a diametrically opposite example to Britain, this means that the population are eating chicken giblets to survive whilst dealing with the highest AIDS per h/c as employment spirals towards 50%- I can't stand idly by and watch our postwar advances, and all those promises, get pissed down the drain by a bunch of greedy and power-insatiable arseholes. I know that in part, this is us as a species evolving, which takes no account of personal feelings; but I can't help feeling that this doesn't have to be like this. I'm no communist, but capitalism has almost certainly run its course; I'm no pacifist, but I can see that the military industrial complex now owes nothing to the people it took tax money off for return of "safety"; I'm no fortune-teller, "but it's easy to see without looking to far that" nothing is sacred anymore in terms of the daily abuses, corporate banditry and loss of life that comprise just another jolly englishmans day in the continuing story of the modern world. You once portrayed a marvellous character in an equally marvellous film that turned to face the camera and wryly stated that "there's something wrong with this country isn't there?", an inspiration to my understanding of how much this country and the World have changed since 2001. But this is not good change, this has unfolded to become simply change on behalf of the few against the many. English fishwife though I mebbe, I am beginning to lose my sense of humour as the daily assault of people like the BBC, bless them, and the ConDem government, continue to try to smooth over a ripple in humanity unprecedented and without historical reference. Please make me laugh and find a better way of dealing with this before I cut my own head off and fry it in garlic butter before burying it in soft peat for three months and recycling it as fire lighters!
With many thanks for your patience in reading this and equal commiserations in living in times as interesting as these, your humble antagonistic plagiarist, Rachelle Fishwife, Up North, England.

As an ex catholic who thinks the church is a force for evil I was so happy, although a few years late, to see the debate on utube. I remember the church as being the source of major guiltly feelings in my life and am extreemly pleased that an articulated individual such as yourself was able to express my sentiments so clearly as you did. Well done not just for me but the billions who have shed the yolk of guilt and oppresion - thank you.

How can you talk about an illness noone can see,an illness that people would rather ridicule than understand,an illness i myself struggle to understand, yet it dominates my very being,i am it and it is me.Bipolar robbed me of a lot of my earlier years, misdiagnosis,my own fears, thoughts and lack of understanding, all of which are still evident now, despite my clinical diagnosis 7 years ago,Yet 1 year ago The Purple Ladies Fundraisers came about inspired by watching my daughter suffer with her eating disorder, being lonely isolated and scared another mental health illness to knock us down, and struggle to understand, even now my 15 year old son is under the adolescent mental health team, has been for 8 year,a suspected bipolar diagnosis yet to be confirmed and treated,a life story that would be too long to put here,so welcome to my intro to myself,my family.....The Purple Ladies x

Wordsplit on "Consonant Roots"

I began compiling an English thesaurus based on consonant roots several years ago. I have been utterly amazed at the 'consonance' of language when viewed like this. I have termed this connection as others have as consonyms

The beta version of this 'Revelationary Thesaurus' is available online at http://www.webbrain.com (It is in the section 'Most Addictive Brains' More specifically you can link to it here http://webbrain.com/brainpage/brain/383C0B51-08E8-C795-6978-792002176125

I was wondering if you were aware of this phenomena, obviously it is clear within the semetic languages but I am unaware of any links to it exposed in English ... check out the LV Love versus VL Evil example for instance.

I also have produced an ebook of triple consonants which is quite comprehensive. If you're interested I can forward a copy to you.

Kind Regards, Peter H.

Dear Mr Fry. Just loved your podcast on language. Have listened to it more that once, I must add.
But have you listened to the podcasts from RadioLab in New York.
http://www.radiolab.org/series/podcasts/
I know they get beaten up from sticklers about "their style" but it is quite infectious and fun.
Their episode on Words is quite remarkable:

Dear Stephen:

Thanks to your documentary "Wagner and Me," I now recognize you as a fellow-traveller in Wagnerheim.

You will be interested to learn that the product of my 40 years' quest to grasp the conceptual and dramatic unity of Wagner's "Ring" and his other canonical operas and music dramas, "The Wound That Will Never Heal," is introduced by Dr. Roger Scruton at http://www.wagnerheim.com. This is by far the most comprehensive effort yet undertaken to grasp the mystery of Wagner's "Ring" within one universal frame of reference. My life's work, thanks to Dr. Scruton, has been posted there as a free resource for all those interested in Wagner's sublime art.

Dr. Scruton also introduces Paul Heise's new website in an article entitled "The Ring of Truth," which appears in the May issue of The American Spectator, and which can now be read free online. All of Dr. Scruton's past articles published by The American Spectator are archived there under "The Pursuit of Knowledge."

Stephen, I recognize you get tens of thousands of posts here, but I would very much like, should your available time and inclination allow, for you to visit http://www.wagnerheim.com at some point, to join its discussion forum to address any questions or controversies re Wagner you may have, and to hear your perspective on its presentation and arguments.

Therefore I remain,

Your friend from Wagnerheim,
