The reason is simple - things were distinctly unhappy and unsettled here when Katy-Sara died, but because of her I have kept blogging on Mindwalking and it seems to have a regular readership now which is nice. I just hope it helps as I found it easier for me to share thoughts this way than in discussions on here. Fab that the Time to Change Campaign has hit mainstream media now. I reckon that will help us all a lot... long way to go still though. Along with many I've felt terribly guilty for not being there more for Katy-Sara but then my psychologist pointed out that I was busy fighting my own demons, stresses and battles. A brother terminally ill being one. At another time I might have been strong enough to be there to make a difference, but whether or not I would or could have been 'the one' to make that difference is impossible to say and the same is true of everyone here. Those who were closest and were there will probably feel all the worse for not making that difference and it is to them my sympathies go now for I know what it's like to be there yet the loved one still dies. It took comprehensive and intensive counselling to get me through it. Bereavement is a demon beast and often needs professionals to help us through. So folks, do the wise thing and seek that support. If there's blame to be attributed then it lies firmly with the illness not individuals not even Katy herself. So here's a tip I got from that counselling - be angry with the illness and gentle, considerate and understanding of all those who grieve. Put yourself in the other person's shoes before you end up making assumptions about them and listen. We've all got something in common here - we're hurting. Let not that pain of ours cause pain to others. Pain is pain - not a competition. Don't you dare stop contributing as you wish. You have the right to do so. I've never seen you cross the line on anything but if you ever did I have no doubt a moderator would intervene. That said, even moderators can't be all things to all people all the time which is why I'm glad to know this site has several. Aside from anything else they have feelings, needs and opinions too; some we will like and others we might not it's only with variety that we can gain objectivity and balance I reckon! I know you especially needed the break. As it goes things have moved on. I have been informed that I have over stepped by boundaries with my posts and that I have become offensive. I have not been asked to leave but since I would never want to abuse this site I will restrict myself to the WRITERS THREAD only until after publication of the tribute book. To Katy - this site was so important to you, if I have sullied your memory and work in anyway I am sincerely sorry. All references to myself (apart from as a general contributor) will be removed from the tribute book - I don't want to grandstand just raise a glass to an amazing Lady and friend and also ensure that we do what we can to ensure her work carries on - I know many others are doing similar projects in their own areas of expertise. I think many will be adjusting to the loss of Katy-Sara and find coming here hard at the moment too. I find I need a break from hearing of other's suffering as it can trigger illness in me. Then again there are other times when it's just what I need. Finally many people read but don't contribute. I've noticed postings where people have been reading for years but only just plucked up the courage to post something. Horses for courses, everyone likes different things and at different times.
