Still using the Remoska. We have found another advantage, it means you don't add much more heat to a kitchen on an already hot day, unlike an ordinary oven. A small and welcome benefit.

That's not a small benefit when you don't have air conditioning. We use the crock pot for the same reason. I'm still going to get one of these cookers, though.

Lamb chops, cooked over a bed of sliced potatoes. I could go back and eat it all over again.

Tip for serving broccoli: Half fill saucepan with water. Cut tops off broccoli. Throw tops away. Throw bottom half away. Boil an egg instead. <img src="http://www.stephenfry.com/bb-content/plugins//bb-smilies/default/icon_biggrin.gif" title=":-D" class="bb_smilies" />

The metal stand it's on transmits heat, so you'll have to put it somewhere or on something that isn't affected by it. Thought I ought to tell you about that.

I did two English sausages in the cooker tonight. Raised up to let the fat drain off, very nice. Next time I think I'll have a pie. Or a baked spud.

A still, at the price of oil these days, it might be worth running a small generator on undiluted apple brandy. Be careful, ethanol, when it burns does it without a visible flame (like methanol). Other thing to check when you distil, is it ethanol = fun, or methanol = death & blindness?

It is probably a very effective metal polish and etching agent for artworks. Does it make a person's face roll up like a Tom And Jerry roller blind?
