But I admit: when I started reading it was entertaining and okay but where it really gets awesome is from the start of the second half on (parallel universe and so on...). Yes, of course, it's quite an advantage to be really interested in history. And that's what I am anyway, I can't read enough about the history of Nazi Germany (but don't worry... ;)). Preventing Hitlers birth and causing another way of the past is very creative and makes you ask the same question: what could be worse than the Holocaust? This is what makes the book to me. But not only that: the characters help a lot, too. Michael is my favourite character, Leo Zuckerman is so likeable as well (and I think of him as a German Hugh Trevor-Roper...or something. At least optical), Steve is sweet as well (especially with Michael) and the villains and supporting characters are interesting and helpful, too. I also like the flashbacks in the first half. No wonder since I'm also interested in the history of World War I. And last but not least: the ending. The absolute climax of the story and I couldn't get much better. What I appreciate is that you have to use your imagination at the very end. What I'm talking about? Come on, I don't wanna spoil at all <img src="http://www.stephenfry.com/bb-content/plugins//bb-smilies/default/icon_wink.gif" title=";)" class="bb_smilies" /> Bottom line: this book is so good that it has driven me to buy many more books by Fry at once. This is truely a brilliant 'Meisterwerk' you wrote there! I nearly finished the book and I'm so excited to know the ending. I had a great time reading it (in the park, at school, at home, in the train,...). The thing is, I have to read it again, because I didn't understand everything very well. I'm not English, but thanks to the good (and sometimes funny) formulation I can understand the most of it! "Stephen Fry in America" and "The Fry Chronicles" are waiting on my desk to be read.
