Katie Elliott is a musician who has bi polar. She had a particularly abyssmal time earlier this year, which she talks about at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rG6xGcsDSwQ She is unflinching and honest in how she felt. The result of this is Meet me in Winter - an amazing community project she led, culminating (so far!) with a beautiful song and film made with many members of her town, Wooton-under-Edge. Go to http://www.meetmeinwinter.org/ to get the story behind this.

I've found http://www.moodscope.com/index.php useful for monitoring my mood over time, and hence being more aware of ups and downs, there's space for notes, a buddy system that will email nominated buddies for you with your score, and the daily emails are often resonant as written by Jon Cousins, who himself has bipolar. It's very quick to do and the site is simple enough to use from a web enabled mobile phone.

Check this site out, there are lots of resources for those affected by mood disorders including family and friends. I have registered this morning.

I think this is the good topic to post this in but I'm not sure because it's a tvshow and not a website. Ok shut up.

For people who understand the Dutch language, yesterday there was a documentary on the tv in Holland, about a 21 year old girl who has Bipolar Dis. You can watch it here:

http://dokument.ncrv.nl/uitzendinggemist (it's called Jeanne)

Dear Mesem,

Your impatience and intolerance with my moderator on this forum will not be tolerated therefore I have deleted your post, the content of which we were dealing with via PMs. Further intolerance on your part will result in a ban. As Tobias stated he is in a different time zone and so cannot be expected to have replied sooner than he did. I have already warned caution about the use of herbal remedies. Your more recent post was vague and therefore dangerous. If you wish to remain a member of this forum I expect you to deal with me via PM from now on and not suggest to anyone that they take medicines of any kind - no one on this forum is supposed to do that. I will be copying you this message via PM.

I have responded Mesem, via pm where this began. It was 2:30am in my time zone when you replied the first time and 5:30 am when you replied again the 2nd and 3rd time. This forum population is international and time zones can't be helped. <img src="http://www.stephenfry.com/bb-content/plugins//bb-smilies/default/icon_wink.gif" title="" class="bb_smilies" />

Hello out there,
Just been checking out iodine deficiencies as I am sure I am deficient (in iodine!) on a site called 'earthclinic.com/remedies/iodine4.html'. Deficiency has been associated with bipolar problems. Have a look, it just might be what you need.

Best Advice:
Don't let any personal contact details or info show that can give away your location or true identity. You can always choose who you pass on your details to, and if they are sincere they should message privately and considerately. Let them approach you.

General rule of thumb is never put anything on the internet that you wouldn't be happy putting up on a neon sign. Never say anything on there that you wouldn't be happy about the most odious of people overhearing. If you are prepared for those possibilities you can stay safe. Don't be afraid to report and block anyone at all.
