If I may speak as a person who has carried around Bi-Polar II disorder for over 30 years, but only got the right diagnosis about 3 years ago:&#60;br /&#62;
&#60;br /&#62;
First step, ask your G.P to refer you to the local Psychiatric Consultant for your area. This will get you a good / thorough assesment as to your needs.&#60;br /&#62;
&#60;br /&#62;
 Although a G.P. can &#60;em&#62;sometimes&#60;/em&#62; attempt do the job themselves,  specialists are not called specialists for nothing. Get a thorough assesment, get the right medications, and begin to get the relief you richly deserve.&#60;br /&#62;
&#60;br /&#62;
As to what you should initially say, just go in and it will pour out. Remember that these people are trained to get the information they need out of you in order to help.&#60;br /&#62;
