Poem N

Fourteenth letter of the alphabet
Twenty-five others complete the set
Start with A and finish with Z
You guessed it I'm off to bed

Nostradamus

Nostradamus told the future
Said the world would end quite soon
Apocalypse and nuclear winter
Spelt mankind's approaching doom
If the end is very gory
And Four Horsemen ride anon
Tell them Mystic Meg announces
Nostradamus got it wrong
We've years to go before our ending
Put the horses out to grass
Horsemen, you can rest a while
And let's just hope that saves our ass

O = Ostentatious

I like words so ostentatious
They make me feel that I'm loquacious
I need pages that are spacious
To fit my musings quite audacious
And hot gossip that's salacious

Such long words are hard to do
I now give up cos I've gone blue

Poem O

O dear what can the matter be
Three old ladies locked up in the lavatory
They were there from Monday to Saturday
Nobody knew they were there
O dear the first ladies name was Elizabeth Martin
when she got in there she couldn't stop .......
Nobody knew she was there
O dear the second ladies name was Elizabeth Gitting
when she got in there she couldn't stop ........
Nobody knew she was there
O dear the third ladies name was Elizabeth Missing
When she got in there she could't stop .......
Nobody knew she was there
O dear why didn't anyone care

P = Plagiarism

Plague your eyes, who did I plagiarise?
Do poets have their spies - like MI5?
Thought Police who stop you nicking stanzas
Like a squad of lawful Mario Lanzas
Can iambs and verses be coincidental
Or have I gone completely mental
And purloined them in my sleep?
All I can say is, "It's a fair cop, guv,
I've truly learned my lesson
And have plagiarised enough."

Poem P

A pea is a spherical seed
Well drained soil is all you need
Botanically a fruit
Many varieties suit
A vegetable says the cook
He is right its in the book
Little Marvel or Mr Big
No reason for a dig
Alderman, Snow or Sugar Snap
Prepare them from you lap
Green Arrow or Early perfection
Just make your selection
Fresh, Frozen Canned or Dry
Have you decided what to buy?

I wondered where you were, Northern Poet. Hope you're feeling much better now. You've made up for lost time, lol!! Way to go!!

Quasimodo

Quasimodo rang the bells
All day long and through the night
He drove folk mad so they threw rocks
He plummeted and screamed in fright
But please don't fret or start to worry
A gargoyle caught him by his pants
His arse on show, he shrieked with fury
So they speared him with a lance

That's the story of the hunchback
Who rang the bells of Notre Dame
The moral is don't piss off sleepers -
If they're roused, you'll come to harm

A bunch of flowers the girls mind is lost
Then comes the baby she will pays the cost

Poem Q

Queueing for the buses
Listening to the cusses
Queueing for trains
Keeping in our lanes
Queueing for the match
How's that for a catch
Queueing at the shops
Hoping price drops
Queueing at the bar
The front is not far
Queueing here and there
You find them everywhere

Do not worry about things you have not got

E.g. Money

Revelation

Revelation in the Bible
Came to pass on Judgment Day
Those Four Horsemen saddled up
To make the wicked people pay
Politicians begged for mercy
Bankers, lawyers, those with riches
The poor who'd suffered all their lives
Hoped greed would kill those sons-of-bitches
But God, I think, he is a Tory
For him the poor just couldn't win
He thought, "Let's give the rich a bonus
Cos wages must be paid for sin"

Sleep over here, by my side my dear nelly
sleep and let me rub thy child held belly
Sleep dear woman don't worry about tomorrow
I'll feed young burns, beg steel or borrow

Sleep and rest my dear Nelly tonight
Tomorrow everything will work out right
sleep by my side my young lady just sleep
Dry your eyes now my nelly dont weep

Your Pregnant again 8th time at thirty five
I have worked down pit, so we all can survive
sleep by my side my dear wife nelly, dont cry
Tomorrow all our sorrows may kiss us goodbye

Shyamalan

M Night is a film director
Did "The Village" and "Sixth Sense"
Once the twists were unexpected
Now they're dull, no longer tense
He has filmed "The Last Airbender"
Just the title made me smirk -
Who bends air and is it painful?
Do his farts do all the work?
