Ranting right-wing religious ratbags.
Young Tories (paradoxically called young Liberals here).
Those who revel in their own ignorance (eg Hanson/Haider/Le Penn supporters)
Rap
Ethnocentricism and its mate Xenophobia.
Bad grammar, especially saying "I" where it should be "me".
Many of the above, except I do like Ben Elton, and it isn't obnoxious little kids I dislike, but their daft parents who do not know how to be in charge, acting like entertainment directors, afraid to upset their little darlings. They make me want to scream "Take charge, say no, shut them up, tell them who's boss, cut out the junk food, feed them real food, ration the Telly, and forget about ADHD"

I appreciate the things Ben Elton has contributed to, however, the fact is that, all of that aside, he is a little twat,
Rant:
Re: parents: I agree. I often get frustrated at parents who pander to a child throwing a tantrum and then look totally nonplussed when it gets worse. I want to scream "THE CHILD IS DOING IT FOR THE ATTENTION YOU ARE SO READILY GIVING YOU FUCKING IMBECILE".
With my boy my attention is my most valuable commodity. I try to use it wisely which means when he throws a paddy, provided he is safe he gets ignored and unsurprisingly he stops within seconds.
End rant.

Reminds me of my mum, telling us what she did the one and only time my older brother had a tantrum while she was feeding me. He started banging his head against the wall (which might explain a few things X-D ) then looked round to make sure she was watching. She turned away and carried on attending to me - and he didn't bother trying it again!
If I get started on the things that wind me up I'll never stop... edited highlights could include the rubbish that seems to pass for popular music these days; anyone who runs red lights, talks on a mobile while driving or doesn't appear to understand the function of those little flashing orange lights on either side of their motor vehicle; people who just don't listen to me even when I manifestly know what I'm talking about; oh, and people, really. Individuals I like, some of them I love, but the great unthinking mass of populace is a bit more difficult...

A couple of times as a kid apparently I had tantrums, kicking and screaming on the floor, etc. Mum used to just leave me and I'd tire myself out and fall asleep!

- Men (and women) who moan about Feminists and women drinking pints (I'll keep drinking all the pints I want, just because I'm female doesn't mean I have to drink half-pints or 'women's drinks'). People who think you're supposed to behave and dress in a certain way and like certain things because you're female. No, no and no.
- People who are prejudiced towards other groups of people that don't cause any harm. Especially homophobes, racists and sexists.
- MySpace. Hideous layout. Every profile I've seen on there seems to have been written by an illiterate.
- Commercials. Especially ones on the tv and radio. Noisy irritating buggers.

Are you aware of the many studies of women linking pint drinking to the desire for butt sex?

teenage boys under 18 ( they *might* in some rare cases be bearable with 17 - but i've heard of none )
people who rely on strange studies
don't trust a study you haven't faked yourself

- call center operators who constantly disrupt my work and try and talk me into a new phone contract and whatnot.

- Queue jumpers
Especially at Christmas. People turn so rude then and think it's okey to behave like that just because it's Christmas. I can always see them out of the corner of my eye edging slowly forward trying to push in front of me.
- Opal fruits and snickers getting renamed
Add to that that stupid stunt pulled by Kellogs where they renamed Coco Pops to Choco Crispies and had people voting which name they preferred and changed it back again. An obvious cash-in on the election at the time.
- That we have no culture of customer service
Poor working conditions in retail has just sucked the willpower right out of the staff. When you work in those places you don't want to try and do your best, you just think about getting out of there (I never stayed in a retail job more than a few months, too abysmal). It's depressing and it shows when you're on the other side as the customer. It's so rare to find helpful, keen and interested staff. At Ottakers I came across a woman who was always really eager to help and find anything for me. Go down the road to Waterstones and what do I get? "Er I dunno if we have that book...." *stands there like a moran instead of even looking at the computer catalogue search*
- Ignorance, in general
Don't get me started on that one. I could take all morning with it but I've got to go to work in a few minutes.
- Thieving posties, lost tons of stuff
Same here. It's even more annoying when it messes up applictions because they lose your references in the post. I send everything important recorded delivery now (and keep copies of everything). You just can't rely on the Postal service.
