Down here in the good old south east of England the health service regarding mental health is rather slow.
I have just had my next date which is in November! It is a bit of a piss off as my pills have been changed yet again and it is difficult to keep up to speed with my changing moods.
Is it the same all over??
Oh and hello to anyone who was around when i was more active on the forum

Hi JV, nice to see you around again.

When my GP mentioned referring me to a psychiatrist, I said "Is that likely to take a long time?" and he just waved his hand dismissively...

So I took that as a yes. Good job I'm not in a hurry. Hope you're coping ok.

Hiya mate hope things are ok with you?
I have looked in here from time to time but have been really busy at work
So it's not just down here then!
I lived in Hemel Hempstead for a time years ago and found there system was quite quick. Suppose it's all down to money

I'm not too bad, ta.

Saw my gp today, and he wants me to consider counselling - he's honest enough to admit that a psychiatric referral could take forever. Either way, he thinks I should wait till I feel better and more focussed before trying to talk things over, which is probably a good idea.

Bedford hospital trust is notoriously rubbish at everything. If only we could all afford to go private, eh?
