Hi there, I just recently subscribed to Mr Fry's podcasts, really enjoyed them, so decided to sign up for Twitter, to get an insight into his daily musings - imagine my surprise then to see that having created my account adding Mr Fry as someone that I was 'following' that within a few short hours I had this error;
"error|blocked|You have been blocked from following this account at the request of the user."
I'm a bit puzzled as to why this might be, as I've only posted a couple of general statements on my profile, and none regarding any of his items, so am not sure what I did to be banned? Since Mr Fry has almost 200,000 followers, I can't help feeling a little singled out, unless that is, he only likes to have people following him that he actually knows (which is fair enough of course) it would then seem rather odd to have the latest posts on this site? BTW my username is 'samallez'

Stephen Tweeted that a few people said that they had been "blocked" when in fact they hadn't, I think the idea is to get someone to send him a message and hope he gets it, then he'll try and fix the situation, I'll try

coul you do the same for me please? I too feel foul of whatever wicked technical glitch happened there and don't konw how to get unblocked. It would be really cool if someone could help me.

I notice you have 37 followers, unless they are all banned one of them can tweet @stephenfry #fryblocked with your user name. Hope that helps.

If any of you use Twitter this is rather useful, especially if you're a student and need extra help with procrastination come essay writing time. I downloaded it at:

It's really good and means you don't have to open a web browser to access Twitter, it keeps you up to dat with things so you don't have to keep on clicking constantly.

I am glad you mentioned tweetdeck . I really want to add that to my account, however, when I tried to download it I got a message that said the file is corrupt and to contact the maker. I e-mailed Ian Dodson weeks ago and have never received a reply. I cannot try to reload again, because I keep getting the same message. Does anyone here with computer savvy have any suggestions? I really am not bright when it comes to computers.

What sort of computer have you got? I downloaded it on a Mac and it worked first time, but has been a tad slow as of late. Have you tried getting rid of the corrupted version that you downloaded originally before trying to reinstall it?

I have a Compaq, and I did try to get rid of the bad one that I downloaded, but I couldn't find it on my list of programs. I really am pretty bad at computers, and am afraid I may have to wait until my nephew comes up.

It's working now. Decided to do a clean up of my computer last night, and that seems to have done the trick. Tweet Deck is now installed and functioning. I just need to learn how to put it to it's best use. I am rather pleased with it though.

But what is the 12 second button for? I am afraid to push it. X-D
