BEAUTY and THE BEAST

There is both beauty and beast within
Everyman, whether it be hidden or seen
In a world where nothing is black or white
Each soul is grey, dull or bright
Life gives us the shades as we grow
And we judge from the things we know
Life teaches us not, to be good or evil
But to survive; it is only by our will,
Not to give up on life but to fight
Do we choose our path easy or right
And all the paths that we choose, stay with us
For life; imprints on our soul of what was
Decides the course of what shall be
And colours all the things that we see
Some choices may condemn us, some may redeem
By our situation good or bad we may seem
But none do see within a man’s soul
Whether it be truly evil or beautifully whole
For we want not to see evil beyond beauty
And beyond seeming evil we dare not see
But truly, there is no winner in this eternal fight
For dominance between the black and white
For even beauty may have a beast within
Even a beast may hold beauty unseen

I like it too.

I know this sub-language of my language. It's good to see so many people on this forum speak it too. Phew! where on earth have I been all this time?

There is always love.

PREJUDICE

It is a red sun that shines on us today
And mars, the lord of wars hangs high
Like countless wars that lie in the past
Ruddy colours paint the earth and the sky
But lo! There is no enemy at the borders
No blast of destruction, no heralds of death
No marching soldiers or captains to give orders
No lands laid barren striped of their breath
This deadly foe is from our land, our home
In the name of religion, culture, language and race
Obscured by our naïve acceptance they roam
But there is a deadly fire behind that smiling face
Their pride in their own infallible transcendence
That their believes make them better than the rest
Their prejudice, their lack of acceptance
Of anything different, shall the sooth of this attest
The values we hold dearest, destroyed
Silently, from within, hollowed like old trees
The cries of victims lost in the void
We hear them so often; we don’t listen to their pleas
Spectators in an arena, we see, we disapprove
But we do nothing: we do not perceive
That with our silence we obliviously approve
The bitter fruit that we shall receive
These violent passions of prejudice burn fiercer
With each day that we turn a blind eye; Wake up now!
Before this inferno leaves only ashes to mourn over
It wont spread beyond what we are willing to allow
Drown these prejudices in hope and love
Before they drown our lives, our tomorrow
Reach out, embrace, and accept our diversities now
Before our petty differences leave naught, but sorrow
