yep. I was once half an hour late for work because of this. Why, if you're going to put someone interesting on, would you do it after 9am when all the people who would be interested have gone to work/college like sensible people? I don't understand. Maybe its a silly conspiracy to see how many people they can make late for things.
Interestingly though, the one I stayed to watch (Alan Rickman plugging Snowcake) had turned up on youtube by the time I'd gotten home. |

glad to know it's not just me, it seems extremely impractical, when they could have these things on, instead they try and fill some time with mindless banter from someone on a relatively low key issue, it drives me mental
and yes quite a few do tend to turn up on youtube, thank goodness Sadly I fear there may be less internet call for Cookie and co =/ |

frogandpeach1 puts up a lot of Peter Cook videos on youtube and some other members. There's so much on there I still haven't seen it all. You never know one of them might upload it. I missed it too, I didn't see this thread until an hour after it aired.

I can never understand the idea of 4 BBC channels and then they complain about underfunding and filling the space with good material.
I would rather have one good channel making all the others raise their acts by virtue of having the money, facilities and reputation to attract the best. Silly, I know, and I think I've worked out part of the multiple channel culture: empire building, many individuals all preserving their salaries and staus. So it's not going to change. The only way is forward. Now where's the bar? |

I'd agree with you up to a point Maxx. I think 4 channels are too many as they clearly have too many repeats and too much filler.
However, one channel is far too little. If this was the case we'd end up with a channel based on BBC1 as it's the most popular. However, it's BBC 2 and 4 which make the programmes that appeal to me. These are the slightly more adventurous ones which aren't necessarily aimed as mass appeal, and just make good programmes. Don't forget BBC 2 have programmes like QI, Top Gear, almost any of the worthy documentaries, Never mind the Buzzcocks etc. BBC1 is far more popular, but as their "comedies" don't tend to appeal and I loathe Eastenders. (Having said that I think we could safely bin BBC3 without any problems). |
