Does Sun + Oracle = Snoreacle or snorkel? I don't know, but it sounds like a horrible monstor either way.
Tons of the original Sun big brains/Ancient Geeks are jumping or have jumped ship. Bless their pointy heads, I don't think finding work is their real issue so much as being able laze around on their earnings for awhile. Which, no doubt, they've earned.
It's interesting though that the demand for Java has slipped back under the demand for C. Probably the need for people who actually understand how memory works and manual manipulation is key ( versus being 'protected from yourself' philosophies....*cough* ).
Business programming, to me, is about as neat an idea as eating an asbestos sandwhich. If the money made is the dressing on that sandwhich, it might make it taste better going in but the affect will be the same as if it didn't have any dressing.
