As you're all so mad on Gadgets have you thought of downloading

Volunteer computing is an arrangement in which people (volunteers) provide computing resources to projects, which use the resources to do distributed computing and/or storage. BOINC software allows you to use the idle time on your computer (Windows, Mac, or Linux) to cure diseases, study global warming, discover pulsars, and do many other types of scientific research.

It's safe, secure, and easy...

The Large Hadron Collider as well as LHC-related simulation will produce a total data output of 15 petabytes per year ...

...so every little helps.

And you never know we might find out who truly created the Universe

I second this! BOINC is great, and you can be a part of scientific research just by donating a tiny bit of your computer's memory for the cause.

Right now I run SETI, but I'm planning to take up other projects as well.
Not sure which ones, as of yet.
