This tune has a bit of a story. I remember as a child always being horrified as when I heard the lullaby, "Rock-a-bye-Baby". I think this was because at a very young age like every other kid in winter in Alberta, you learned how to skate. There were no helmets back then and I did a back-flop on the ice and cracked the old noggin a good one ... 57 years later it still hurts. So I knew from first hand experience the kind of pain the baby would feel if down came "baby cradle and all" to the sidewalk.
I was thinking about this one night a few years back and decided to write ... yes by God! ... a PROTEST LULLABY! In my lullaby the baby and his teddy bear take care of business ... actually, you probably wouldn't want to sing this to your child
"Murphy was an optimist."
