Dear Mr Fry,
In one of your very entertaining podgrams, you were speaking of comedy, and you said "Angels can fly because they take themselves lightly". I was wondering if I may have your permission to use this beautiful sentiment on the home-made cards that I sell at local markets here in Australia. My crafting and card-making, is simple, and definately not for big corporations, I make them because I enjoy doing it, and I sell them, or give them to friends and family. I really love that quote, and would really like to use it, if I may.
I would also like to say, I completely relish the intelligence you exude in your eloquent speaking, and I hope you continue to record them. They are fabulous, thank you.
Sincerely,
Melinda

Hi, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7ovD21KbSDM&feature=related and Stephen uses that phrase towards the end of it, and attributes it to G. K. Chesterton. So it's not his own but no less true for that. I also hope he'll keep writing and recording his blogs and podcasts. The last one I read was the one about Oscar Wilde, and it made me feel humbled as usual. Brain too small, soul too small, heart too small...but thankfully one can grow at least up to some point, and it's nice to have something to try and grow towards. stuffing vine leaves with a bunch of perverts |
