Google's critics have been pointing out their refusals to comment on their too friendly relations with 'authorities' to provide tracking information on their customers uses. This isn't a critique coming form the Foil Hat crowd either, but rather REAL comp sci folks ( versus technarati fanboys etc ).
Anyway, you may try this instead: It's called Scroogle ( sort of a 'scramble google' play on words I think, you can read more on the home page if you're interested ).
Please understand that what it IS NOT is any kind of tool to promise complete liberty for your computer. There are a variety of tools out there to help you with that, and wether you do the homework yourself or not is entirely up to you.
Do not doubt that the Liberty of the triple w is, in fact, at stake. Trust me, if a variety of source from profit to non-profit can figure out a way to control *every aspect* of your connecting to and using the internet, including tracking *how* you use it, they will.
