So Facebooks profiteers aren't happy enough nearly controlling all the data on the www hostage, and every drooling ______ with it, but they are even going about trying to prevent people from committing virtual suicide using IBM's old 'FUD' philosophy ( Fear...Uncertainty..and Doubt ). spread the panic baby!!

They are accusing this site: http://www.seppukoo.com/ of, essentially, stealing the data that users give them acccess to.

Can anyone say 'Irony'?

Facebook has an ability that really ought to give some folks pause. They can tell you about a book you bought from Amazon five years ago. OK....stay with me...not a book LIKE what you bought....THE book you bought...and from five YEARS ago....deep data scrubbing going on that they turn around and make public for others to see, not just you....

well, just going about a normal account delete doesn't really cut it where they are concerned....it's never really gone....so, the folks at seppukoo made it possible to assist you in your desire to sleep a little more peacefully for a while....

and that just make facebook may-ud

Really? Wow.

I hope they get this site back - http://www.seppukoo.com/ it would be cool to commit virtual suicide.
Would become very popular if facebook get their way and start charging for the service.

There are loads of cool sites on this topic - won't post anymore URL's so as to clog this thread and you are all perfectly cable of sarching for yourself if you so desire.

In one article it talks about having ex's in ur friend list and the problems that can cause - been there. I now keep only real "friends" i.e. people I actually care about in my list - particularly friends and family who are a long distance from me - and I do enjoy keeping in touch. I also block virtually all applications. The once jelous partner is actually on facebook more than me.

Wise way to go about things Vampyros.

I don't know where FB get off trying to tell anyone, anywhere wether or not they can erase their own personal and individual information.

I don't use it anymore. I use this old technology called 'the phone' if I want to keep in touch Sometimes - gasp - I even write, with a pen of all things, actual letters. On paper!! The great thing about it is now it arrives fairly quickly because there's less 'competition' since most people have gone digital

But that's me, and I am weird.

FB would be fine if they'd stop the, some might say, digital bullying. But why should they when most everyone is willing to let them get away with it?

Really? Wow.
