There's something about the hands of academic men who type and handle books often. I'm friends with quite a few men who work physical labor, so when I meet a man whose hands are soft, it's a bit of a pleasant surprise.
I've never met SF, but I'd imagine his hands would be un-calloused and.... well, soft :-//

Having had the honour of shaking hands with him (just the once) I can definitely confirm that his hands are very large, soft (in that they are not at all calloused - but not soft-soft) and pleasantly dry. His handshake's quite firm too. A woman's hands get sort of 'enveloped' in his. It's a lovely handshake all round.

I am tired and exhausted but could not resist this week´s special treat dished up by darling Fryphile: Stephen´s hands

Behold! Stephen's golden hand.

Stephen wearing a wedding ring looks most... peculiar - especially on his RIGHT hand
(I´d never want to wear a wedding ring on my right hand, even though it is tradition here... ergo: you Brits beware )

Watched this film twice, only because of Stephen X-D

And I own "framed" Stephen (I had even brought the book to my first QI recording, hoping I might get it signed since it is one of my favourites... but it was not to be :'( )
