@mp, ginj pretty much covered it. I wasn't selected as to be on a panel. A jury, as you prolly know from 12 Angry Men, comprises 12 people. They called 40-70 people to be on a panel for certain divisions of court. From those, they do a more comprehensive examination of the potential jurors called Voir Dire, or "to speak the truth". This is where the judge and lawyers find out if you have any particular prejudice to the case that's about to be heard. If I had been paneled, my exit strategy would have been, "Your honor, I have to do Fry-A-Day." At which point, I would've been yoinked by a bailiff and tossed into a rubber room
at the judge for kicking out a juror for red socks. Stephen told a story about one of his masters at school pausing in mid-lecture because a bird landed on the window sill. He said he's not paid to teach birds.
nemelle, I can't see the precioussssss

I always feel so sorry for Stephen when watching the 'Salad' sketch. But his swearing makes me squee with laughter.:)

aah cool, thanks ginj and fryphile, that's really interesting! I presume that at least in subtle ways your and our legal systems are probably quite different (and even from state to state I imagine too...well I know some states have crazy laws that other states don't have etc), but it is something I should probably know more about, what with it being such an integral part of society and the way things are run. Back when I worked (oh so long ago now!) I worked in a injury department of a law firm (as a paper monkey) and I always found it really interesting reading through cases And also the weird legal things you learn, like for example, if you have a car crash and you get out to exchange details with the other driver, you should never say 'sorry' because that can be used against you as admitting liability for the accident. which is stupid, because I think a lot of people (myself included) would say sorry even if they didn't think they were at fault.
Anyway, sorry for the tangent. Back to normal business.
Mmmmmmmmm, Fry.

Aww, I would hug him anyway.
Nemelle, love that picture. Really love that picture. <3
mp, I really do love the law, it is always changing and evolving. It is a fascinating field.
Fryphile, I am sooo sorry that you didn't get chosen for a panel, I would have paid money to hear you tell the Court that you couldn't serve because you had to do Fry A Day.
Soph, make an extra space on both sides of the middle and it will show up.

Oh, the significance of the egg pictures wasn't lost on me the first time. "You give good hand." and shame on you, Fryphile.

I think after that, there won't be much space left in the naughty corner, it might get a bit crowded there.
And thanks to you dear Fryphile, I'm never gonna be able to watch that scene again without giggling madly.

My friend and I were watching this and he's like, "That's not even really his hand." I got pissed and was like, "Stephen could totally do that if he WANTED!" Besides, I'd recognize a Stephen-hand anywhere.
Open to suggestions as to what my sig should consist of...
