One of my dogs is very ill - possibly parvo which is unusual in older dogs but not unheard of.

went to see him - he is full of beans - stinks to high heaven - and apparently crapped all over the vets car. He also peed on me at which stage I said to the vet - he peed on me, Im not taking him :p

He will stay there tonight at least - he is still all liquid out the back end

Sorry to hear that Occy.
My German Shepherd caught Parvo when he was a couple of months old. We live in South Oz, and at the time there was a bit of an epidemic.
Zac (my dog) had already had his initial injections, but hadn’t at the time had his booster, and he got it bad.
He eventually pulled through after a week or two of being on a drip ect, and went on to live about 16 years. As you know that’s a long time for a Shepherd Occy.
Take care,
Pete

Hi Amyl,
Yes it can be very bad, but it's not unheard of for dogs to survive it. I.E My dog Zac.
Probaly best to Wiki it if you want further info, but I understand it can be caught even by a dog sniffing or coming into contact with contaminated soil.
Catch ya
Pete
