18th April 2008
35th Series of Have I Got News For You starts on BBC 1.
Woo! My fave show on TV. Jack Dee hosts the first one (according to Wiki), so am looking forward too it. Don't like seeing Paul Merton and Ian Hislop getting old mind, have watched every episode since about 1999 and it's depressed me to see them age so bad lol.
Fingers cross Paxman hosts one of them...
Meh, I'm babbling. Just wanted to remind you all it's on

Haha, Paxman presenting HIGNFY would be something...nobody does withering contempt like him. In fact, one week they should have him presenting, with Stewart Lee and er, someone else cynical (too many to choose from) as the guests, and we can all cower before their collective scorn!

He's perpetually stuck in the land of Grumpy Old Men and it's numerous spin-off talking-heads shows.
Assuming direct control...

He said he'd never do it again cause it's too heavily cencored.
Hoping to see Tony Slattery appearing on it sooner or later. I know Mr Fry has said he'd never do it again, but Tony..? Hmm.

Be nice to see Charlie Brooker on it again, too. "If you are dirty, insignificant and unloved then rats are the ultimate role model" - Banksy

personally thought Jack Dee was great.
{"SPOILERS"}
I've read from 1 source that next week is to be hosted by former prime minister John Major... god help us?
Week after Brian Blessed, and after that Alexander Armstong. Obviously because it's only recorded the day before it's shown they're all subject to change... and often do if they're booked through their agents rather than personally. However, Armstrong's presented every series since Deayton left so he's a safe bet.

Have I got News for You is still going? Damn, I thought they had stopped that by now. I sometimes see it on BBC2, always assumed it was years old repeats.

It's got a primetime BBC1 timeslot, 9pm Fridays... it's far from dead lol. Last one this week though, Jeremy Clarkson presenting. Has been a good series though... and I think Brian Blessed surpassed Boris Johnson and the Tub of Lard as far as memorable guests go.
