All I want to know is was it loud?

My daughter's guitar teacher is on the lookout for an electric guitar for her. Zeus help me. There's already a drummer banging away upstairs.

Loud, oh dear! I had to really back the p.a. volume right down.

Guitars - hard to find a really bad one these days, but could I take the liberty of suggesting a Yamaha? Absurdly undervalued, this despite more heritage than you can shake many sticks at; Nippon Gakki is well over 100 years old and know what they're doing when they put their brand name on an instrument.

The badge on Yamaha motor related equipment is actually three crossed tuning forks.

Not a lot of people know that.

Took the battery box to an open mic last night, me & Clive gave it some welly on three numbers, got genuine big applause at the end. The amp came through like Hound Dog Taylor for me, that's a win+ for me.

I am the glaring old man on the flying travese. My Phoenix head is returned to it's valve driven majesty, one day there shall be a Myspace or Youtube link to the sound of animal savagery in excess of the battery box and microphone.

I've got 2 pairs of 12" Celestions, you know.

Sometime soon, I will cut one of the speaker cabs in two so I have a more portable single speaker outlet for the voice of The Beast

Well you can always get her a Line6 Pocket Pod, portable amplifier, with effects, tuner aid and for use with either Headphones or via a speaker-system. That way force her to play with the headphones and hey presto problem solved. A newbie guitar player don't need a expencive amplifier.

I wish I was a shapeshifter.

But that's absurd. How will she ever annoy her parents if it's all contained and controlled? And no headphones are ever the same as the resonance of a room. Perhaps she can have her own soundproofed shed, they have enough land from what I understand, but I utterly reject the concept of headphones. Heresy, blasphemy, perversion!

I got tired of being messed about on sound at Swanage, so I taped my good mic on it's adaptor to the cheapnasty amp and used it flat out at the blues jam on Sunday.

Tone?

Think teeth, claws, Jurassic Park, red meat

I was given a Carlsbro 6-150 ii solid state amp a few months ago (it was going in a skip otherwise), I've been using it lately in the music sessions. A big, rich, clean sound. What you put in is what you get out. Mucho pleased-o.

A blip - it cuts out sometimes. Don't know why. Time for switch cleaner and swearing.
