A poxy little 4 pin connector. I cleaned up the contacts, but if it gives me any more grief, it gets replaced with Proper Engineering.

Apart from that, the amp is an absolute gem.

Traded the Carlsbro, with the failing connection fixed, for a 1960s Hacker Gondolier valve driven auxiliary stereo amp. They were sold to match a mono record player to achieve stereo;now the poor old thing is being subjected to a hooligan with a guitar.

Early experiments have shown that output volume is dramatically increased with a boost pedal and the amp is considerably louder that it should be on 7w.

I don't know what this means. When I win the lottery I will send funds to put the problem right.

Lottery win at this time still elusive.

There is no problem, siblingette, it is both hunky and dory; the cream on life's strawberries, icing on cake and cider on a hot day. Thine eldest brother is an happy man, equipped now with the means to be thoroughly loud, disreputable and "cool" to impressionable nephew and niece.

By way of a diversion, here is my poor deluded Scotcher friend and his beano or whatever you call the instrument.

Jakey? Sensitive?

The amp - finally got to play through it for a good amount of time yesterday in a rehearsal room. The sound's so magnificently 1950s black America, I've started walking round asking "Where de white women at?" It even made a cheapnasty Squier guitar sound like a £1,000+ top of the range American Fender Sratocaster.

Grossenbruder is a very happy bunny.

Hi Maxx ... I've been trying to respond to your PM but the site is not letting me do it ... a wee bit buggy yet methinks

Anyway, Scottish flag aside, I actually live in western Canada, but Scotland is where my heart is

If your friend would like to get in touch re: banjos my "real" e-mail is:
banjoboog@gmail.com

Cheers,

I found it was simpler to send a fresh pm instead of replying to incoming, the bug is not letting many (all?) reply to pm's.

Do you go on Big Road Blues? Full of Low Fellows who enjoy the finer, base, things in life. And tell dreadful jokes.

Sometimes life imitates art, last October 3 of us were busking for festival funds in Swanage on a station platform. An Englishman, a Scotsman and a New Zealander. Is somebody trying to be funny?

I want a tube amp. Period. Exclamation point. Comma

I also want a Vox.

But more than these Maxx, I want you uploading your music somewhere it can be heard by me, myself, and I. And anyone else who dares to intrude.

Really? Wow.

Look, don't say I didn't warn you, this might not be quite what you're looking for

The community festival stuff, I'm the lefty slide player in 2008, and in 2009 I was the deputy bass player with the Strat on the neck pickup and the tone rolled off because our regular bass player was 100 miles away with a broken van. Sound quality ain't much, as it's only a cheap video camera recording.

Fabbalous to see Big Brother in the Big Screen. Or small screen as it actually is.

Did you get women throwing their undergarments at you on the stage?

I've got a mouth infection. It's painful. You've just made me laugh and the side of my lip has split again.
