Warning.

I have spent almost a decade becoming a very good hypnotist - driven in reality by need to 'solve my own problems'. I believe very much in what I am doing - and through my passion to 'feel better' I have developed some very interesting skills.

If for religious or personal reasons you object to being hypnotized I recommend that you return and read further only if you are willing to take the risk. Whilst I can honestly tell you I have no conscious intention of 'hypnotizing' anybody - especially without their complete agreement - anybody who knows a great deal about hypnosis will understand that this 'conscious intention' is largely irrelevant!

Furthermore, for transparency reasons I have no intention of using this thread in any way to promote myself for any commercial reasons. I run a private practice in Australia, thats all I'm going to say - if folk are interested and able to meet up then I won't turn down your money, but, I realise that for many this is not an option. I have no books, or materials to sell - at least currently (June 2010).

I am only very aware that 'hypnosis' is shrouded in fear, mystery and taboo - when in (at least my) reality it is none of this things. Like all passionate hobbyists I'd be delighted to offer truly impartial advise about this topic, especially to those who might consider this as a future aid to healing.

I've always believed I am hard/impossible to hypnotise because I have a hard time switching off - are some people impossible to hynotise? BTW - if you do, in the future, have a book to sell, it is fine to promote it here, people will make up their own minds... no hypnotism into buying

Jonathan Livingstone Seagull (is that the one you meant?) is a great book. I read it a LONG time ago....it's kinda weird, but good.

No sig.

Finally KS and I are different in some way lol - I am extrememly easy to hypnotise. It was with one of those travelling - show hypnotists so probably not the right way to experience it.

My psychotherapist offered it to me years ago but it was not appropriate for me at that time - I felt anyway - but have always been interested in the potential power of it.

I've just found this thread. I am wondering if there's anyone who has had hypnotherapy for depression, personality disorder, bipolar - that kind of thing. I've just been diagnosed after 30 years of "sweeping it under the carpet".

I don't think it would work on me either. Even if I want it too.
You would have to be very good and work very very very hard

What is the point? To strive and make a difference and feel the rewards.
