Just finished watching the Culture Show about the London film festival on iplayer and it was fab.
The Uri Geller bit made me laugh out loud and the Michael Palin interview was great.

I'm so glad we have such a great cultural institution like the BBC. It's the one thing that, when ever I despair at the state of some of the goings-on, I can always come back to and say that it really does make this country great to be part of, and I'm really proud of.

Everything from the the drama to comedy and political commentary. And all the great Radio stations on top all that...long live the Beeb.

Please tell more about the Uri Geller bit. Never liked him but having a TV crew in his house about an hour after Michaels Jackson's death disgusted me beyond words.

Me and everyone else who saw it I'm sure.

It's only a short anecdote by the film director Jon Ronson who is talking about his new film The Men Who Stared at Goats.

It you click on the link and go in about 10 min 20 sec into the programme it should lead you nicely into it.

I hope this works.

It worked!

Uri Geller is the biggest most dishonest charlatan..............in a long time anyway.

I can remember a docu some years ago about these experiments. Can't remember what channel it was shown on. Did you see it?

Sorry Tito, I don't remember the documentary.

I recall, as I was kid, Uri Geller appearing on the Michael Burke programme, and showing off his spoon bending and watch stopping tricks. As a kid I was totally entranced by it and believed it, as did millions of others.

Then along came the magician, The Great Randi, who laid down a challenge to Uri Geller, and has spent his lifetime trying to expose charlatans. He put up $1 million dollars to anyone who could prove they had psychic powers, under controlled conditions. To this day no one has ever claimed the money. Especially that crook Uri Geller.
