Hello Stephen and everyone else.
You said one of the pleasures of your recent weightloss regime was listening to audio books whilst walking and exercising. Please can you tell me which device you used. I don't know what an iPod/iPad is, or a shuffle and also how to download the books from the internet. I have been asking my daughter to set this up for a couple of years to no avail. So now I'm going to have a go myself. The summer is here and I would rather listen to Alan Rickman than the neighbours barking dogs and crying babies.

You dont know what an iPod is?
Well, iPods are MP4 players - they all play music, most play videos and the newer iPods have access to the intnet and you can download applications for them. An iPad is like an iPod touch but much bigger and more computer like. Its basically a touch screen A4 sized computer.
If all you want is to listen to music/ audiobooks then I would recomment the iPod shuffle - this is the cheapest and most basic iPod. It has no screen, just buttons and is a basic MP3 player. It basically plays music and audiobooks.
As for the autobooks if you get an iPod when you plug it into the computer you can download a program called iTunes and on this program is the iTunes store where you can download most songs/ podcasts/ autobooks etc. pretty cheaply.
You dont need an iPod however. I love my iPod but if you want a basic, cheap alternative there are plenty out there. The one thing I would say is that iPods are quality.
Any other questions just ask
"that woman...of dubious and questionable memory." :P

How much can you spend on your "thingy"? If I have a price range I might be able to suggest something. Where do you live, just country will do so I know what sites to look on.
Wait that one will solve itself when I see if you put the price range in dollars or pounds, Never mind.
Anyway I love this kind of stuff! Any excuse for talking about gadgets!
