yes i know it is a commonly asked question but alas here it is

if you could have a group of say, 5 people over for dinner OTHER than mr Fry, which would lose you marks for being painfully obvious, who would you invite?

mine would have to be , in no particular order,

Alan Davies for pure comedy, make me laugh and i'm yours! I loved urban trauma and live at the lyric, and of course an inapropriate crush on someone twice my age!

Billy Connolly for the same reason and also because i fear my mum and sister would string me up if he didn't make the cut! he is legend and as my patriotic mum would say is more important he is scottish (I don't share this emotion as i was born in england, raised in england and have never lived anywhere else)

my dad, for without him i obviously wouldn't be here and also because i am at heart daddys little girl as the youngest in the family and because if it weren't for him introducing me to the likes of qi, have i got news for you and various other programmes i would not have inherited his love of knowledge, comedy and other qualities i must have picked up from this bonding of late night television and bedtime stories as a child

my sister because she would beat me if i didn't and would also enjoy this group more than i can ever imagine, with al that testosterone though it would be good to have a female there to keep me sane lol

i'd also have to invite jk rowling as i am an enormous fan of harry potter and would spend hours discussing the ins and outs and theory behind her books, which is, i fear, a feeble end to the guestlist for i have not a single philosopher in sight!

Here's my list:

The Queen: Don't know why because I'm not even English. She was just the first person I came up with.
Hugh Laurie: If I can't invite Stephen, he's sort of the next best thing (sorry Hugh). Plus, he's sexy and brilliant.
John Cleese: Because I adore him and my fantasy dinner party wouldn't be complete without him.
Leonard Nimoy: Yeah, well. I admit it: I'm a star trek fan and I even read his book ("I am Spock"). Plus, he could perform the Vulcan neck pinch on the Queen.
Douglas Adams: I know but it's a fantasy party after all. I just really want to know what he thinks of the latest hitchhiker's movie.

So, there you have it. The only problem is ... what should I cook?

stephen is already there so you ave 6 people including him, as to your what to cook question, i'm betting my fantasy dinner would also include a top chef, butler etc so everyone could have what they want.... the powers of the imagination! why be in the kitchen and miss all the fun i say!

It's actually a really hard question, which I suppose is one of the reasons it's so often asked. I actually have no idea, I know that I'd mess it up though and anyone that I thought would be brilliant would turn out to be boring or horrid *giggles* I'd quite like to put someone like Buster Keaton (who I adore anyway) with Stephen Spielburg or any good modern director (or indeed film actor) and see what he makes of them and also of flms today. Or I'd like to put people in a room just for the fun of seeing what'd happen - Steve Jobs and Bill Gates for example. I wonder if they've ever had dinner together? Would they talk only about computers or not talk about them at all? Would they fight like cocks or would they dine happily side by side like the giraffe and the zebra? I'd quite like to have dinner with Catweazle too, I think that'd be really funny

Ooh, only five? But I want Hugh and Aled! Oops... hehe

There are four members in Thirteen Senses, so they would all have to come... then there's the lovely Hugh... and Aled Jones... can I have a slightly bigger party?

Three out of my five are dead, but I've have my great grandmother, great aunt Mary, Paula Deen, Alton Brown and Julia Child.

All the great cooks I know of. Think of what I could learn...the possibilities are endless.
