OK, this is a little bit of a cranky, petulant, moody rant.
Stephen is visiting Australia and is only going to Sydney and Melbourne. Initially he was only going to Sydney, but then the Melbournites got together and formed a facebook group asking for him to come see them too. Seeing the positive response this got (ie Stephen is now going to Melbourne) I decided to start a Brisbane version of this group.
Now, I don't expect miracles. I don't expect that Stephen will suddenly add Brisbane to his schedule at such short notice. HOWEVER....it would be nice to at least get some acknowledgement that the group exists, is almost doubling in members each day, and that we're here and much-admiring of Stephen Fry. Just one response on twitter, FB, forum that says something like "Yes, Brisbane is a city, and you have a FB group and you all love and adore me....Thank You" is all we are asking for.
Of course, we wouldn't object if the gorgeous Mr Fry decided to grace us with his presence also.
Here endeth the rant...for now...

Could be read as a good sign... i.e. keeping an open mind to see how the Brisbane campaign shapes up?

True, but some acknowledgement that he knows we exist would be nice. Its kind of like trying to park blindfolded - I don't know if I'm going to hit the letterbox or get up the driveway safely. It would be at least nice to have someone say "swing a little left" so I at least know whether the letterbox is on my left or my right.
Was that analogy more confusing that it needed to be?

he's juggling several careers at the same time plus im guessing he has the same b/s the rest of us have in our personal life to deal with and being a Celeb is probably hounded incessantly by a multitude i would guess that it is beyond the realms of possibility for him to respond to every single issue that's put before him. hang in there and hope that he or some one working for/with him notice the effort and keep your fingers crossed that his no doubt hectic schedule allows him the luxury of the extra detour... good luck

It may be prudent to think of it as tossing a penny into a wishing well. You do it in good faith, hope for a good outcome, but don't put too much of yourself into it. If your wish DOES come true, it's like an extra, free little bonus 
Don't beat yourself up too bad if you don't manage to catch a split second of Stephen's time - afterall, pretty much everyone these days is trying to.  Good luck!
