Firstly I'd like to say hi. I'm new on this forum...

This is the first poem i have written since i was in primary school... so I'm sure its very messy and filled with grammatic blunders
PS. Deepest and sincere apologies for resorting to Shakespeare, I'm sure he would be appalled at how i used his genius.

Twitter is a novel way,
to tell the world your issues,
A problem shared is a problem halved
Thats halved the cost of tissues.

Though it seems so clear, its really not
This to me is now apparent.
People who are usually smart,
Are turning words abhorrent.

The use of words in our modern lives,
Has changed in recent years.
The SMS brought new slang words,
That were foreign to our ears.

So is this the century Shakespeare wept?
or maybe its the other-way round?
Shakespeare made some words of his own.
he had an ear to the ground.

The phrases shakespeare brought unto us,
are writ with a certain ripeness.
There are layers of layers hidden within
which offer a certain fondness.

Though this be madness, yet there is method in it
("There's a method to my madness")
the naked truth, the makings of,
the milk of human kindness

In my heart of hearts, In my minds eye,
In the infinite space around us
the way our languages are going,
it seems infirm of purpose.

So if old bill were alive today.
do you think that he'd say "LOL"?
I'd have to say I disagree,

By your Generic Internet Troll...

Please comment, this will help me improve my English skills.

Upon writing this I realised it is much more fun than peer-pressure would have me believe, and so in response, I penned a second.

"Life In The Page"

Wonderful it is to me, to see a book thats writ,
with sense of upheld elegance, and otherworldly wit.
The words and prose, of writers gone, but rarely writers living.
fills me with a sense of joy, these books just keep on giving.

But how I feel about these words, is rarely worth expressing
it is the style of written word, which i find most impressing.
J R Tolkien had a gift, Charles D.ickens had the same.
But William Shakespeare, above them both, would put them all to shame.

The gift they had, I tell you now, injecting life to page.
Expressing subtle nuances, like jealousy and rage.
To give the characters the gift of life, is really quite inspired.
And I still think of Romeo, and how that all transpired.

So have you ever tried to word, the subtleties of pain.
trying in a vain attempt to describe a mans' disdain
well if you have... I know I've tried, and failed to unseen laughter
just keep in mind the three old names, are names of English masters

So now I have said, all there's to say, on this important matter.
I said my piece, and only so, the masters, I can flatter.
It is much more than just the words, which is the remarkable thing.
more profound than all of this, is the order those words are in.

Of course both of these are inspired by "planet word" and the wonderful things it teaches us.

I haven't really read an english poem since... well, ever, because I've only been able to fluently understand english for about one or two years.
I really love them! I have no idea how you do it but I think it's fantastic!

We are talking of the idea of beauty, and the beauty of ideas.
