If you buy one now, I promise you will regret it later unless you have uh...'contact's..and unlimited funds. You can bet a far better version of it is down the road but not far down the road. Apple is 'hooking' people in. That's fine, let the herd get hooked. But be smart and wait a while for they're really GOOD version and when all the first gen folks are complaining in a year or two, you'll be golden. And this is coming from an Apple fan btw. I'm just not THAT kind of fan Really? Wow. |

I was at an Apple store in New York earlier today to get a new charger for my MacBook, and I played with an iPad while I was waiting. I have to admit, it is really cool. Being the baseball geek that I am I particularly liked the MLB At Bat app, and the iBooks looked pretty good too. However, Nitro's probably right about waiting for a future version, unless of course you have money to burn. The iPad certainly has a lot of potential, but the way it is right now, it's a big technological toy, not a replacement for a computer by any stretch of the imagination. Anyone who's looking for a new computer should not consider this the answer. "Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you." -Oscar Wilde |

That's good advice Nitro. Unless I get one for free (a possibility) I'll wait a few years until the technology is mature. "Murphy was an optimist." |

When the iPad has this feature implemented, I'd consider buying one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jd3-eiid-Uw |

Just got four of the not-so-little or light blighters at work, so I've had a play with one and it's lovely...but just a big touch at the moment. Definitely one to wait a while for...despite the tech-porn appearance. iWonder |

The head tracking post is awesome - In my little world I am considered intelligent - but there are millions of you out there who remind me that I am actually stupid - but then what a boring world it would be if there was nothing left to learn. Vx I think my multiple personalities have multiple personalities - makes for quite a party. "Books and friends should be few but good." cool post wildfire...i wonder how much better this has gotten in the three years since first posted...and that the wii game developers consider his pov but with an iPad, or something like it, wouldn't it require the iPad to stay in one place while the user moves around in front of it? that could be a problem on the bus if everyone had one Really? Wow. |
