I still do not know what to say. I have been a forum member for about a year and half. KatySara was one of the first to welcome me and we became fast friends.

I am just really heart sick right now. As a parent of a bipolar son I know this is the worst fear we parents have. I cannot even begin to imagine the grief Mr. and Mrs. Culling must be going through.

My thoughts are with KatySara's family and loved ones. My deepest sympathy to you all.

It is devastating, I am literally heartbroken. Actually felt like I was having a heart attack when I heard.

Like I have said on other threads though, I am determined to beat this now, it's what she would have wanted for all of us.

Trying to raise money for train fare to make the funeral.

Katy was indeed a fighter, and just as we've all been impacted by her loss, she too was devastated by the loss of those she loved to this illness. That and her desire to have a quality of life motivated her into battle. Katy came to this section of the forum bound and determined to make a difference, which she did from the word go, and for many. She fostered a spirit of kindness, understanding and support here which we are now also bound to follow and continue. For her it was also important to emphasize that everyone is welcome here and to bullet point that Mental illness affects everyone in some way, either directly or indirectly, and that family members and friends can play a huge role in helping to combat the stigmas and promote awareness. She also commented frequently on the importance of understanding that a concerted effort is a huge boon in the day to day for sufferers of all mental illness.

As most of you know this portion of the forum was born out Stephen Fry's own struggles with this illness. In fact I'd venture to say that the making of his documentary The Secret Life of the Manic Depressive has surpassed even his expectations regarding awareness worldwide. Mr. Fry has expressed his sadness at the news of Katy-Sara's passing and is deeply touched by "how we are all remembering her and honouring her memory", and he's asked that I pass on his best wishes and thoughts to you all at this time.

Katy saturated her posts with kindness, patience and occasionally a playfully wicked sense of humor, and while there really isn't much that will assuage the grief of such a loss, bearing that in mind may help us to remember with every effort we put forth to do the same, Katy lives on.

I cannot be awake for nothing looks to me as it did before, Or else I am awake for the first time, and all before has been a mean sleep.

So eloquently said Tobias.

I always appreciated Katy's honesty with me. With my ADHD sometimes my posts are choppy and do not really flow. Katy new this was something I was working on so she would often give me feedback and advice.

Katy called it as she saw it and I loved that about her. For that reason when Katy would compliment me on the handling of my son and tell me how lucky he is to have me......... Ugh, just thinking about those conversations touches me so.

Whew.....That being said I think it is time to "Raise your Glass"

Agree well said. Katy brought out the best in us all. I would not be writing today or probably even alive today if it were not for her.

She told the truth no matter how painful that may be. She told us what we needed to hear.

She will always be a part of my life, gone but never forgotten.

No shots and keep taking the meds !!

THanks might look better. Just realized I never knew her Birth date. We were both usually too down to bother with them.

Managed to order flowers today, small but perfectly formed. Had to be sensible both financially and for carrying on the train.

Getting train 7:20 from Morpeth, should arrive in plenty of time.
