I would really like to say how sorry I am for the loss of Katy-Sara. I never knew her personally, but I can see how much she has affected people and helped them to cope.
I have been lurking on these boards for a while and just felt I needed to say something. x

I think that was nice of you to do, Princess.

I have read and re-read Katy's blog and find my comprehension no more improved with each passing. I start to think I do, but that feeling disippates quickly. Please understand this is just my viewpoint and feelings and I wouldn't dare consciously set out to hurt anyone. I am so sorry for the loss to her family and close friends, and to this forum and site. I'm sure Mr.Fry will miss her tireless assistance to his site and the people who populate it.

Katy achieved a lot and left so much Good here. It's very inspirational. And like many people who do that, I can't help but feel a real twinge of sadness too. I guess it's not ever about what one could have done, but what one actually *did*.

Really? Wow.

I don't know what to say. I've been away and missed all this.
Her kindness and dedication will be greatly missed, not only by those who have already benefited from it, but more so by those yet to come who will not have her guiding hand.

We can all do something about that. She has work left undone, a can that needs carried.

Still really missing KS, have noone else to really talk to, everyone else ( apart from occasionally to a few online peeps) I put on a mask, to used to wearing it now.

Nights when I can't sleep are the worst. Since she has gone the insomnia thread has moved further and further down. It does not feel the SMSe here now, I know that it is me that is changing. The desire to pick myself up has gone.

I look at my life goals list and realise I actually don't care now. I want to finish the KS project for her memory and her friends and family, that's it.

Hey V, that sounds real bleak for you. KS was a great person to talk to and had a wealth of knowledge. I appreciate you both talked a lot during the night. Please remember to be strong and know that you never know what is around the corner. No one will ever replace KS but what happens in your life could change for the better. Don't lose hope and don't give truth to the negatives. Live. Love. Fight.
Really, you are a great person to who I feel can call upon for knowledge. You help people too and you certainly get things done.

Reality is contigent; the only permanent concept in the multiverse is change - death. We are born into it and it follows us.

I feel hypocritical even of thinking of sharing experiences just now. Not doing my degree now can get a post grad loan if I was going into work after but wanted to go into research but even that is dubious since nearest Uni is in the town and I can't even get to the field outside my door just now.

As well as Bipolar, surfing bad back pain, stomach distended and uncomfortable. Also fighting finances still, will manage when all back money paid but we get hassled everyday even have my beloved Mini up for sale but no interest. Will have to drop price even though she is worth so much more.

I'd like to reiterate MrCartoonguy's comments. I can't explain why, but since Katy's passing I've found that this site has lost an indefinable something. No doubt in time, I (we) will adjust, as we always do. I could be wrong, but I think some of us felt that when we posted to the site, we were actually talking to Katy, because she invariably replied to our posts. Now, we are talking to no one in particular. It goes to show that losing an (in my case) online friend can have just as much impact as losing a personal one. Keep your collective chins up everyone, Especially you V. Time is a great healer.

Well said bay.

It is a very bad time all round. Been up over 24 hours with my dying cat. Was booked in for euthanasia this morning but I don't think he has long now and he is comfortable so we have decided to leave him be. He was quite perky last week. We got advice from the vet who said his kidneys were damaged. They said his weight was ok. All this after extensive blood tests. They offered a treatment and after some thought we gave him a chance.

He then went rapidly down hill by which time we had no money left and the vets were not interested in helping put him out of his suffering-money up front no matter what. We are out of the area for all charity services. After all the time he spent with the vets they must have known it was only days. Since then he has had bleeding from nose and a little from mouth. After searching on net this is apparently often a rapid tumour -been there and had we known it would be like this so soon we would have had the vet euthanase him last week.

Sorry for the rant but it's a break from crying. Back to giving him a cuddle and a gentle Stoke, every now and then I think I feel a purr. Breathing quite laboured now so won't be long. I will really miss him, another guardian angel gone, he used to nudge my hand if I was taking pills if I was not overdosing. If I showed them to him it was like he was counting, if they were ok he would go back to what he was doing otherwise he would not leave my side. He has stopped me before by doing that.

Just nothing but bad news and crap at the moment, there is only so much one person can take, the life truly is draining from me just now.

OK back to Mogs.

He's gone. A very special cat, 16 years old and we had him for 14 years.

Feel a little better, wrote a complaint to the vet which helped me vet some of the anger and stress I have been going through.

It is times like these you really miss having a friend, like I said the long nights are the worst.

I made a video when we thought he was going to be put to sleep - no more ranting about the vet, I promise :-

Hope you enjoy it, I hope he is off somewhere playing with our first dog Sharn and my Mum's dog Key and maybe KS will check on him for me too, they never met but she loved his photos and she loved her pet dog Poppy so she would have understood.

I'd like to give you an online hug
Pets are such wonderful companions. I have 6 cats, the eldest is 19 this month and I will be devastated when she leaves me. They are such astute and clever creatures, they have their own way of looking after you. This is not what you needed You've been having such a tough time at the moment, I do hope things improve soon. x

Only 5 cats now, ages 11-15, also a dog aged 5 and two turtles aged 4.

Could not be without them.

Things seem to be looking up a little today, hope it continues and thanks for the hug.

Some of may have noticed that Katy's web site disappeared last week. It was brought to my attention last week and with the support of her family we have managed to have it reinstated to its default domain.

http://www.katysara.webs.com/

We have the domain KatySaraCulling.com in reserve as it was too far down the reclamation process to stop.

Obviously Katy's blog will no longer be updated but we intend to keep the useful information up to date and start a new more generic blog that you can all get involved - A day in the life of various mental health conditions and highlighting the best of the helpful advice out there.

If anyone has any comments or suggestions please email KatySaraCullingTributeBook@yahoo.com.

Many Thanks,
Vx

I am a new member and came across this section. How sad. Over the last two days I have been reading old posts and saw Katy-Sara's replies and she seemed like a very kind hearted person and that has only been confirmed by all your lovely words about her. I cannot say I understand your loss because as far as I know, I am the only person in my family and circle of close friends that has bi polar disorder, and the only time I encountered someone who committed suicide was a fellow class mate in highschool which was of course terribly sad but I did not know him. Sorry for your loss everyone, and I was looking forward to Katy-Sara saying hello to me until I found out about what happened.
