I was wondering if Stephen reads letters. Is there an address to send them to?

There have been some reports from people who even received answers by Mr Fry.

As far as I can tell, Mr Fry reads them very carefully...

I've had a couple of most gracious replies from him.

I'd love a gracious reply... except I have absolutely nothing to tell him beyond what he's heard a thousand times already.

You are AxmxZ. You can think of a new way to say it.

They're at home, tucked up safely in my desk, and I'm toiling at work at the moment, so just sketchily ... in one, he thanked me for a birthday card and letter I sent in 2005, saying they made him laugh. I have to tell you, I'm very proud of that one. And the other was a thank you for a Holiday present in which he remarked that I had chosen the perfect colors and design, or some such. I was hoping he would notice that the tie and scarf I sent were a design from William Morris, but if he did notice that, he didn't mention.

My remark about AxmxZ finding a new way to say what Stephen has heard a million times was meant as a compliment to AxmxZ's powers of communication.

I've tried writing a letter to someone I only knew through television/books/etc one time. I managed halfway through my second paragraph before I realized that I was waaay too focused on trying to make my letter stand out from the masses. The moment you start stuffing in rubbish like, "oh, there's cheese on the window pane, I think the cat must have put it there"...it is time to put the pen down and back away slowly.

"Your room...it's CLEAN!!!"
"I prayed to God...and...it happened...but...where's my million dollars and horse!? Damn it!"
