I am reading the above and have a question to ask. Rudi goes out of the trench to watch for someone. He is sitting observing the sky naming the constellations at " fourteen hundred hours".

Question - I'm I missing a trick or have I just not read far enough to grasp the significance of this glaring error

I haven't read the book, but yeah, it seems a little strange to be checking out the glittery things at two in the afternoon.

I would have thought that "at fourteen hundred hours" refers to the position of the stars seen from Rudi's perspective.
