God, I knew they were inevitable, but I didn't think they'd be this pronounced!

Example:
I walk into Maths annoyingly cheerful.
Throughout most of Maths I am a teary wreck.
I emerge from Maths annyoingly cheery.

And they seem to always occur in Maths as well. What is it about that subject?!

The rest of the time I'm becoming more and more annoyingly cheerful, bordering on permanently hyper. It's not really a state I want to be in...

Good god, the sooner I get over this puberty lark the better.

In my earlier life it used to be normal and logical to be teary while IN the maths lesson, and happy when doing something/anything else. One day I was so miserable I tried to hold it together by staring at a picture on the wall. It was a print of Van Gogh's Sunflowers, and as I stared at it, the thing fell off the wall.

I felt I'd made it happen - it was a damn sight easier than getting my head round calculus, anyway. The teacher thought I'd made it happen too - he'd seen me giving it the scary stare. I let him believe it. Well, I believed it myself, a bit.

So don't worry about your feelings in maths - they are so normal. Just try to avoid staring at things....

I don't think puberty's end will stop much of that.

I see adults walking out of 'maths' all the time, still crying.

Really? Wow.
