This came from being rather bored at a house-party. Everyone was getting drunk, and I was left with a set of magnetic words on a fridge. I was just messing about and came up with this. I hope you enjoy it.

Mournful autumn darling
put your hand in mine.
The evening paints you silver
you suit its gentle shine

The moths are drunk on moonlight
they cluster in the air
in the lunar glow that's flirting
with the colour of your hair

Love is always ours
we tug upon the threads
to feel the ripe and moonsweet flutters
in our resting heads.

This is nice. We seem to have a few good poems on the go at the min.

I cannot contribute. I don't have the talent.

See the bad poetry (for Nitro) thread and then tell me I'm wrong!

"I don't have the talent" ... hmmmm

What "the talent" is
is just "the talent"
to do it.

And that I haven't got. I'm a glowing example of inertia a lot of the time (Fuelled by 26 years of bipolar).

But at least I can enjoy reading other people's stuff.

I know you were. It's just easier to explain sometimes why I can have periods of being a bit of a wet blanket. And not joining in too much.

Besides I'm so good at bad poetry I should stick with it I think.

I think that's a beautiful poem - well written and very lovely imagery.
