Listen, for your own goods.

I wasn't sure whether or not to buy the "Love" album. Now I'm sure I won't. That version actually makes this sound good!

Forget it, everybody, just listen to the whole dang thing!

You fucking what?

Are you sure you listened to the song, and didn't temporarily insert a family of angry mosquitos into your ears? That really would explain it. What????? Nnnnnnng! Please, someone articulate my disdain for me? :'(

King Crimson, anyone?
YES! Red is my favourite album of theirs, but all of their stuff tends to be better than the average prog mess. Fracture is one of the best instrumentals I've ever heard in popular music.

At the moment I'm really into Queens of the Stone Age (specifically the albums with Nick Oliveri, but the others are good), Aphex Twin and Miles Davis.

Bloody well put, Saturn.

I also maintain that people should have their feet nailed to the floor for judging Pink Floyd before hearing the album Meddle, or Wish You Were Here. But they always do!
I think Meddle is vastly overrated. I love Echoes and One of These Days, but all of the other tracks just bore me. If they had recorded The Embryo for that album, it would have been infinitely better.

Animals and More will always be my favourite Pink Floyd albums.

The Beatles *double thumbs up*

Morrissey *double thumbs down*

That is all I'm saying on the matter.

People who listen to only one/type/genre of music...what's up with that?

You wouldn't eat only one food for the rest of your life, would you?

Music is a kaleidoscopic confection box of human emotion and there are so many colours to enjoy - why restrict your pleasure?

There is great and terrible music in every genre, just explore, explore and explore.

I love music

Brilliantly put, Saturn. I love your kaleidoscope analogy. In connection with your comment about great and terrible music - absolutely. Why is it that everyone so far has been down on country music? The fact that so many people criticise it in such a loose fashion is why I have always tried to give it a chance. It's not my favourite type of music, but it is a rich and varied genre with various sub-forms just like heavy metal, soul, jazz and classical. Putting down country music is like putting down television, and we all know how silly and ignorant that kind of statement is.
Whenever I hear someone putting down country or television in an absolute manner I respond with the following analogy - "And if your most frequent encounters with writing were tabloids, gossip mags and pornography would you also dismiss all literature?"

That's how I respond to people who put down comics and manga without having bothered to read any. I don't hate genres and I don't hate mediums. I prefer to base my judgement on individual pieces of work that I've seen/heard/listened to.

Assuming direct control...
