Nephalim, according to the Old Testament and my Catholic friend, are the result of demons and people mating. And it was their presence, in part, on the Earth that pushed God over the edge to destroy, with a bunch of salt water, his creation. Except for Noah, obviously.

God does seem to have a positive feeling towards carpenters, doesn't he?

Anyway, according to my friend, who may be on drugs I've never tried and whose side affects I am starting to envy, the Nephalim in our times are my own favorite excuse for everything that goes wrong anywhere:

ALIENS!!!!

But instead of staying 'out there', these alien-nephalim are now walking among us. And some of us humans are friendly to them ( treacherous humans that we are ) and helping them get apartments.

These words are nearly *exact* to what my friend said. I'm really not straying.

I was also informed, thankfully, that the Vatican started an investigation on wether aliens are 'real' or not and if they are, what Gods position on them is ( probably missionary, I'd guess ).

All hope is not lost though, if you are Catholic. If the Vatican decides aliens are real and 'good', you don't have to agree with them about that. You only have to agree with them if the Pope makes it dogma.

I love my friends!!

Really? Wow.

Very very skinny - she drives, but not often. She says strange things and vanishes from time to time - perhaps to go to the mother ship?? She has three little dogs, one of which is completely insane, and has been like that ever since he had to be de-bollocked.

But we get on with her most of the time.....

Your assessment seems sound. She has all the symptoms of alienism. The dogs are just her camoflauge.

If she invites you out to the countryside during the night, you might want to beg off???

Really? Wow.

I guess I should post a disclaimer here because I once had a rather overheated new ager tell me that I was an alien engaged in a government conspiracy to prevent people from knowing the truth about the lizard people and their incredibly realistic holographic projections of people they've not just temporarily kidnapped and probed, but permanently removed from society.

So, fair warning.

*stares suspiciously at all of you*
*goes back to drinking her tea through her forked tongue*

That would be me.

LOL!!

oh, and this: "I was an alien engaged in a government conspiracy to prevent people from knowing the truth about the lizard people and their incredibly realistic holographic projections of people they've not just temporarily kidnapped and probed, but permanently removed from society"

could have been removed almost word for word from the conversation
i was having with nephalim friend...the worst part is, she's really a
sweet woman but she's a fearful sweet woman...

Really? Wow.

Heh, the guy who told me that wasn't sweet, more like foaming at the mouth mad - rolling eyes and little flecks of spittle included. He did seem to be genuinely terrified of something though, that's for sure.

Although, I have to say, I don't generally have a lot of sympathy for people who, while not subject to any discernible mental problem, terrorize themselves with their own made-up bogeymen.

Not all mental problems *are* discernible, that's part of the problem.

My friend's a good example..she would appear for all intents and purposes just quite ok. But she's not. Her illness, though, doesn't generally express itself in ways that make others really anxious or make her super-difficult to deal with. She does obsess a bit and latching on to such theories occasionally is part of what helps her make sense of things she can't explain without abandoning her faith. Which she will not ever, ever do. So, I get to hear something unusual once in a while

Really? Wow.

True, they aren't always. But I think its a mistake to assume that everyone who comes out with some utterly weird and improbable statement has a mental problem - just like it is a mistake to assume that everyone who disagrees with you is an idiot of some sort. Do you know what I mean? Sometimes people really do just believe that they've been kidnapped by aliens etc. and they are otherwise quite normal. My grandma thinks she saw a spaceship from her car once and she's probably the sanest person I know. I don't think she saw a flying saucer, I think she saw something she couldn't explain and leapt to the conclusion that it was the work of little green men. Of course, if it turns out that aliens really are visiting us, I'll have to eat my words.

"But I think its a mistake to assume that everyone who comes out with some utterly weird and improbable statement has a mental problem.."

yes, i agree...for myself, i was referencing my friend,who i know...not unknowns...:)

i wouldn't dare to speak in reference to your grand, but if you met my friend i believe you'd think she was really quite normal...if it weren't knowing her for several years, i'd think it too...she's very functional actually...but if i didn't know her 'back story' and such, i'd write off the alien stuff in maybe the same way you've written off your grandma's...and certainly a lot of people are 'normal'...

but like everyone asks,"What's normal?"

Really? Wow.
