I am now reading book 15 of Patrick O'Brian's fabulous 21 Audrey- Maturin novels detailing the eventual defeat of Napoleon as seen through the eyes of Capt Jack Aubrey and the redoutable polymath and espionage agent Stephen Maturin. The books are historically accurate and detail British Naval life lovingly. The books are beautifully written, witty and sometimes thrilling in their battle accounts. I feel 7 series of 9 episodes[3 per book roughly] would, given BBC standards and computer animation be a western world hit for decades. The action takes place all over the globe!!
