Anyone seen this trailer?

I don't expect it'll be better than the original or bring anything new except maybe soft-porn it up and toss in some special effects.

Really? Wow.

Forgive my low mind, but are you sure about the phrasing of the last senrtence?

The only way is forward. Now where's the bar?

Not sure of anything Maxx. Why? Does it read wrong?

Really? Wow.

I'd really like to see someone do a version of Wilde's story as if he'd written as he really would've liked to, instead of only eluding to homoeroticism or homosexual debauchery. Don't know if that makes sense. I'd even like to see it set in todays world, versus being another period piece ( it's already been done once that way and was very good ).

My fear is that they aren't really going to bring anything new to this story. I do think Wilde, if he could've done so without serious repurcussions against him professionally and personally, would've written obvious homosexual activities in the book than masquerading over it. Meh, guess we'll see huh?

Really? Wow.

Probably a difference in the use or range of use of words. And my having "low moral fibre". We move on......

Part of the trailer looks like the character moves into modern times. Maybe that's the new catch.

it doesn't even look like it'll be out in the US...I hope it will be, as it looks entertaining if not good.

I'll watch it out of curiosity and try not to set any expectations before hand. I haven't seen any version of The Picture of Dorian Gray yet. Maybe they'll show other versions in the coming months to coincide with the release of the new one.

Assuming direct control...

Hmm..I'm a little confused now. I'm told this came out already in 2006. Obviously, I'm not researching this very much so please take my comments, all of them, with a grain of salt.

I've seen the 1945 version and I could swear ( but won't ) that there's a black and white as well. I really need to get around to scraping the mold off my brain.

I thought the '45 version was pretty good. Sometimes certain sites will have old movies you can watch in full for free. Better have a fast connection though. Not sure if Hulu has it but a search would probably reveal it.

Really? Wow.
