So make sure you see the Saturday version! (QI is always worth watching again anyway).
Does anyone know if they did the same with the CiN and Christmas specials? I'd be devastated if I'd missed any QI loveliness.

I happened to watch the repeat of QI on Saturday night and was flummoxed at first until I realised that the BBC are doing the same thing they do with HIGNFY. The Saturday repeat is an extended version with fewer cuts and runs a little under 45mins.

Nope, don't worry Charles. The CiN special and Xmas episode weren't given any extended episodes.

That sounds brilliant! On which BBC are those repeats?
We only get BBC 1 and 2 in The Netherlands. |

The 30 min QI show is on BBC 1 on Fridays at 9pm.
The 40min QI XL show is on BBC 2 on Saturdays at 10pm. Oh that's wonderful! Thanks!
I do feel a bit ashamed now that I didn't look it up myself, but there you go. There's always youtube of course, but I can't help but feeling ashamed that I watch thing illegally. Wish they'd just put everything on internet themselves like South Park studios does. |

There's always youtube of course, but I can't help but feeling ashamed that I watch thing illegally. If you have access to it, then make sure to check BBC iPlayer. QI is a big hitting show, I'm certain they'll upload the episodes weekly. I don't know if they will upload XL though. I'll leave you to sleuth that one out Natalie: "Are you finished with your coffee cup Stephen?" *5 minute debate later* Result: The contents of the cup do not determine the name of the cup. That's what I don't understand. The iPlayer works only in the UK. I just get a message that it isn't for me. So what do we foreigners do? Youtube, with no regards to any rights at all.
It also excludes Britisch expats to watch BBC now I come to think of it. Strange policy if you ask me. I know the idea is that the Britisch taxpayer pays for it all and therefore should have the exclusive right to see it, but that is easily resolved. I wouldn't mind commercials or anything if that would guarantee a decent image quality and proper respect to owner's rights. At least in The Netherlands we receive BBC 1 and 2, so I guess it's time to wipe the dust from the old VCR and TAPE the saturday XL repeat. |

I love that they did that =D
So many jokes are missed out in the half-hour show, so I very much love the XL version of QI |

Same here. It does mean avoiding any Qi related threads if online on a Saturday though. Or even later if catching up on iPlayer. |

They manage to take out all the best bits in the original. Perhaps my favourite bits are the slightly naughty stuff, I suppose they don't like it for BBC one viewing.
They completely got rid of the rock, paper, scissors 'F*@#' game. It was hilerious. Thank F*#@ for QI XL.

They cut the "F**k!! forfeit because the BBC were under a lot of stress at the time to "not offend everyone in the world", hence we lost the Rock, Paper, Scissors game in the 30 minute edition. But yes, thank god for uncensored QI XL Natalie: "Are you finished with your coffee cup Stephen?" *5 minute debate later* Result: The contents of the cup do not determine the name of the cup.
