I enjoyed last night's episode but I couldn't help feeling that the Americans were marginalised somewhat.
Stephen just seemed to spend all his time talking to Clive with nary a glance in the direction of the other panel. Seemed a bit rude to me, especially as I think Reginald D. Hunter is HILARIOUS and the other chap (whose name escapes me now) is pretty funny too.
Anyone agree?

Unfortunately I cannot see QI until it hits You Tube, but I do love the show. Reading these posts I now understand why Stephen was playing rock/paper/scissors on twitter earlier this week. X-D I must admit it seemed very weird to me at the time. As to Forest's comment about Stephen talking to Clive Anderson, I do understand that he is American, but I have never heard of him. I think he has actually made more of a name in Great Britain than he has over here. Wasn't the other person Rich Hall? He is from over here as well (Canadian, I believe). I am not trying to say your observation doesn't have merit (since I didn't see the episode) just commenting on them.

Hello Ginj - Clive Anderson's from the UK.
You're quite right - it was Rich Hall! Didn't realise he was Canadian, though, I think he was just dumped in the "American" basket!
Hope you get to see the episode soon.

I think Rich Hall is American.
IF you watch this weeks Live at the Apollo you'll see where the confusion may have come from.....
Worth watching anyway:

Oops, sorry then Reginald D. Hunter is the one I was referring to when I said Clive Anderson. Thanks, . I told you I had never heard of him. X-D Even though he is American I am not aware of him really making any kind of name for himself over here.
ETA: Okay, maybe I should just delete my first post. X-D Only kidding. The Elephant you are right. I just Goggled and you are right. I heard him referred to as Canadian by someone else and I didn't check to confirm. Sorry.

I think you're right, Ginj - Reginald D. Hunter does seem have done very well for himself over here. I've alwas thought he was really funny. Seem to remember seeng him at Jongleurs comedy club in Nottingham about ten years ago. Had me in stiches....!
Wonder what made him come over here?

KA-CHING $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Natalie: "Are you finished with your coffee cup Stephen?"
Stephen: "Yes Natalie darling I am, although it's not a coffee cup, it's a teacup..."
*5 minute debate later*
Result: The contents of the cup do not determine the name of the cup. The cup is a cup/mug whether it contains tea/coffee/ribena/hot chocolate or any other beverage.

Naw, it couldn't have been cash. He's been here ages and worked the smaller circuits before getting to where he is now (although I'm not sure exactly where that is).
He would probably have made more as a comedian in America - they pay for anything
