OK, I'm going to sound a wee bit childish here.
Does anyone else feel a bit sad that Qi's on BBC1 rather than BBC2?
When I watched it on BBC2 it felt like I was being sneaky - not many people would be watching it and I could show off about all the interesting new stuff I was learning. Now, however, everyone watches it! Therefore, when I come out with a rip-roaringly good fact in t'local pub, I just get "yeah, yeah, we watched QI last night as well, now shut it," which isn't anywhere near as much fun.
Or am I being a brat?

You may have a slight point. HOWEVER.....
...I'm pleased that QI is reaching and educating a wider spectrum of people. Plus I can chat about QI with more people now. How many times have we (as loyal viewers) said "Oh I saw that on QI" and the person has replied, "QI? Whats that?" Natalie: "Are you finished with your coffee cup Stephen?"
Stephen: "Yes Natalie darling I am, although it's not a coffee cup, it's a teacup..."
*5 minute debate later*
Result: The contents of the cup do not determine the name of the cup. The cup is a cup/mug whether it contains tea/coffee/ribena/hot chocolate or any other beverage.

I like the thought that it's gained it's own place on BBC1, and we've helped put it there.
It's settling down well in it's new home, something like 5 million watched the first episode ? And plus, now it has a sense of stabilty, I hope thiers many more series to come.

I know exactly what you mean, don't worry. I'm very happy I'm the only one who knows about QI where I come from. (At least, in my circle of friends). It's always fun surprising people with knowledge I've gained from QI and them telling them I read it in a book or something. They're always very impressed!
But then again, I have to settle for watching QI on a small youtube screen which isn't nearly as glamorous as watching it on an actual TV, so I'd call it even.

Ha ha - thanks Vanscity.
Although you win because you live in Vancouver - I love it there! Hoping to get to Canada some time this year again, too.
