6) Who perfected the Steam Engine?

7) What are the 4 main forces of Physics?

8 ) Why does Mt. Everest get taller every year?

9) And why does Ben Nevis get smaller every year?

10) What is the population of the U.K.

11) What famous author wrote 'The Old Curiosity Shop'?

12) What famous author wrote 'Around the World in 80 Days'?

I don't know all the answers and I'm guessing at some.

2) Copernicus (or some Greek bloke that SF mentioned on QI)
3) Caracas?
4) Canberra
6) Watt or was it Stevenson?
7) Gravity. Don't know the others.
9) Erosion?
10) About 52 million?
11) Charles Dickens
12) Jules Verne

You missed number 8 and you missed number 1. number 2 was close enough and you got one of the 4 forces in question 7 so you got 7.25/12 Not too Bad!

not bad, you named one of the dwarf planets. I shall tell you that ben nevis gets slightly smaller every year (only a rather small margin though) because of erosion but the rest you answered are correct

No one seems to have nailed question 7 yet. Without looking on Google, I would have a guess at 3 of the forces:

1. Gravity
2. Electromagnetism
3. The one that bonds particles in an atom's nucleus together
(can't remember what it's called)

Not sure about the fourth
