\Star Trek Movie
It's really happening. They're really making a film about Captain Krik and the rest of the crew of the Enterprise with a new cast. I don't recognise any of the cast names other than Simon Pegg as Scotty (this keeps making my head implode), Winona Ryder as Amanda Grayson, Spock's mother and Leonard Nimoy as old Spock. There's a teaser trailer on the website!  I thought it was all just rumours but no it's real! You can see the Enterprise being built!

how many star trek fens do you reckon will be scrutinising every word, character, every small detail in fact....... let the disappointment begin hehehe

i have to say its a brave peron that tries to make a star trek film with so much expectation from fans. Has anyone ever been to a star trek convention before?

IME ST fans are frequently also SW fans... and nothing could be worse than The Phantom Menace, so it's a relatively safe bet. Even if it sucks, people will go to see it (if only to see how much it sucks for themselves, they'll go). |

Ever since Star Trek Enterprise I don't blame any Trekkie for being sceptical and cautious. The first two series weren't so good and there was a tendency to ignore continuity from other series in particular the Original Series which pissed fans off.

It's doomed. I can tell because the first crew of the Enterprise included none of the stars of the original series apart from Spock, yet they're going to make the classic series crew the "first" crew.
I feel such a sad bastard for knowing that, yet why do I not feel the least guilt for having a vast knowledge of Doctor Who? (I'm ranked 54 out of over 20.000 in the Facebook Addicted To Doctor Who trivia challenge). |

Well Christopher Pike is going to be in the film too and we're going to see young Kirk and Spock and I think we see them at Starfleet Academy and old Spock so I think it may jump around quite a bit.

If that cast list is anything to go by, it will suck balls completely.
I'm not much of a S T watcher, but even I know going back in time in Star Trek doesn't work, and it doesn't work with big names taking lead roles, as it's too much of a distraction. Has Pegg forgotten the words of Spaced? "...and just like every odd numbered Star Trek movie is shit".  |
