It's not so much that Stephen got to see an advance copy of the book. Stephen's almighty godliness means that he already new the contents of the book before JK Rowling did.

Here endeth the lesson.

Which can only mean that he sometimes writes under the sobriquet "JK Rowling".

Great interview! "Arse-wallop" has to be one of the most delightful, Fry-esque phrases ever. *

I remember getting a bit of an insight into the recording of audio books while reading Stephen King's "Rose Madder." Not the best of his work by any means, but quite interesting from that point of view.

Mary, is your avatar from the Secretary? It's one of three films that I have never watched to the end out of boredom. Waterworld and Freddie Got Fingered are the other two.

Indeed. We can see the genesis of Alan Shore in E.E. Grey. It seems to inspire us Spaderphilles ( sp) to new heights of adoration and discovery. If you are going to have a little spank, and so on, who better than Spader? Some do not understand that it is a dark comedy, full of charm and well fleshed-out characters. That particular scene is fun, as is the "other one", which my avatar commences, but there is much more to be had.

For a discussion on this film and his others, you may find a lively board full of hormonal women ( and a few fellows) who have carried a torch for the object of our desire since sex, lies & videotape hit the street. Above all is a profound respect for his craft.

Google to the <jamespadermeetingplace>. Note that there was an earlier board of the same name by the same Mistress who revamped it a few years ago. This first is archival now, and contains a comprehensive collection of interviews thru 2005. Be sure you get to the currrent board. Look for the name "bridget" in the address.

Another feature of the board is a deightful place for "Over Sixteens", which we refer to as Behind the Green Door, a reference known to those of us of a certain age. It is pass-protected, and you would require some negotionations with the MIstress to get the key. It is full of fiflty talk, includiing original porn based on BL characters. Great fun!

Taking a cue from German language, we have our own developing lexicon. Some examples:
Spaderoisis
Spaderblush
Spaderspank
Spaderperipause
And the best one of all, which we set special dates for:
Spadergasm! ('(!)')

Perhaps this falls under the "too much information clause?"

Now, for pure carnal viewing where Cronnenberg and Spader refer to the sex being the dialogue, is the film "Crash", the 1996 version that caused some fun at Cannes that year. Intentionally disturbing and erotic ( view the NC-17 version), it is worth a go. Our Fry mentioned it in Moab.

Carry On,
MM (!)
