Squellet, I have a problem with your logic because many scientists DO and have lied. Now, not necessarily directly. Sometimes it's a matter of having had to cover facts in order to keep the establishment happy they are ( Galileo promising to keep his mouth shut about all the astronomy stuff...) lol
Tesla was in a financially impaired situation prior to Morgan's involvement, if I understand that history generally right. Kind of on a downward trend. Not in genius, but in having the money to apply it. He wanted the money and probably Morgan, being a businessman, didn't want too high a risk involvement with his dough ( or the embarrassment of having funding a typewriting elephant project ). So, Tesla says,"OK JP, you don't really understand what the hell I'm doing anyway so let me put it this way: I'm building this great thing you'll love. You won't be disappointed." and hoping Morgan takes a chance. Morgan does and says,"OK, here's the dough you pointy headed foreigner. Keep me abreast of your progress."
Maybe Tesla does that by just saying,"Everything's great! No worries.". But he's doing science, not business analytics and so doesn't deliver some bar charts and stuff. Morgan's staff get nervous then Morgan does and whoops! Here comes the money bags to check. Whoops! Morgan realizes Tesla's generalities and feels he's been done dirty by a filthy engineer type. No successful businessman wants to be or feel outsmarted by a scientist.
So Morgan pulls the one thing Tesla needed most: $$$$$$$$
And that's that. Morgan's got too much money and too many connections ( power ) and Tesla finds that reality out.
That's my speculation about that and in full irony of the thread start LOL
I was just frustrated one day by a friend who sometimes 'name drops' historical figures into conversations and knows no more about them than your average four year old. So, if you ask any details about Ceasar or Augustus Gluck or Warhol or Bambi or any of the other great figures of human history ;), he can't tell you much. He just feels like having mentioned their names is all he needs to do to be impressive to others.
So I gave him a ticket to Paris and now don't have to deal with him or his Tesla namedropping. Is that rewarding bad behavior?
